Tommee Tippee Introduces "The Day Baby Was Born" + Giveaway

TDBWB LogoLooking back on when I was pregnant with Princess P, there are so many more things that I wish I would have recorded. From the time I took that first test to the day she was born, I only wrote down small things and captured a couple of pictures. Oh how I wish that The Day Baby Was Born from Tommee Tippee was available, then.

The Day Baby Was Born is a digital scrapbook that captures baby's beginnings. From the time that you first find out you are pregnant to finding out your baby's gender and deciding on a name, The Day Baby Was Born records it all. This service, which is completely free, creates a wonderful storybook that can be shared with family and friends for years to come.
TDBWB HomepageAlong with week by week pregnancy updates, ultrasound photos and the joyous birth announcement, The Day Baby Was Born also gathers peoples reactions on Facebook and places that information in your storybook. Whether it was how people reacted when they found out the news or everyone's name suggestions and plans for baby, The Day Baby Was Born will automatically gather it all.

Another neat feature about The Day Baby Was Born from Tommee Tippee, is that it gathers what was happening on the day your little one arrived. Based on your selections, you can have the latest celebrity news, stock market happenings, zodiac sign, sports news, weather, popular songs and so much more! I love that you can look back and see what was the most popular song on the day your little one arrived! This is something that I would love to have known about the day I was born!
TDBWB StorybookWhether you just found out you are pregnant or nearing the final days of your pregnancy, I encourage you to check out The Day Baby Was Born. This is something I will definitely take advantage of when baby #2 is on its way. Plus, the fact that it is a free service, makes it an even better deal for me!

Need A Last Minute Halloween Costume? Get It At Costume Discounters! (Review)

Costume Discounters LogoPrIf you are anything like me, you wait until the last minute to get things done. From last minute Christmas shopping to looking for a Halloween costume the day before Halloween, I've done it all! In fact, I have yet to get a Halloween costume to wear this year! Luckily for me, though, Costume Discounters saved me the hassle of trying to find Princess P a costume at the last minute.
Precious Pirate CostumeCostume Discounters offers hundreds of costumes at unbelievably low prices. In fact, if you find an identical costume elsewhere within 10 days of purchase at a lower price, Costume Discounters will match the costume price and take an additional 20% off! Talk about excellent customer service!

Whether you are looking for a mens, womens, teens, childrens or a babies costume, Costume Discounters is sure to have something that suits your taste. Actually, after looking through their website, I would love to have the Adult Prestige Pirates of the Caribbean Angelica Costume to wear this year! And don't worry if you have waited until the last minute to purchase a costume, because Costume Discounters is offering guaranteed Halloween Delivery!
Photobucket
When we first asked Princess P what she wanted to be this year, she quickly replied back with "witch". But, after several weeks, she decided that she wanted to be a pirate. So, of course, I was then on a search for pirate Halloween costumes. After looking at Costume Discounters and searching through their toddler pirate costumes, I knew she would love the Precious Little Pirate Toddler Costume.

The Precious Little Pirate Costume is so adorable and features a pirate dress with attached red belt and buckle, a red bandanna with skull and crossbones patch, a pair of red and white pirate tights and gold trimmed pirate boot tops. The dress also has a skull and crossbones patch at the bottom and features jagged sleeves for adorable pirate style.

Princess P was so excited when the Precious Little Pirate Costume from Costume Discounters arrived! She immediately grabbed the package and ran off to her room to change. Of course, she couldn't do it by herself so I helped her become a "real" pirate (that what she calls herself now). The red and white tights fit perfectly and have surprisingly held up well despite being tried on countless times now. The pirate dress is adorable but is a little big in the neck/shoulder area. I am guessing that is because it is a size 3/4. But, next Monday, I will just add a white t-shirt underneath (that will also help to keep her warm) and she will be good to go. Also, Princess P doesn't have a pair of black boots so we just put the boot tops over a pair of black Mary Janes and it still looks adorable! I'm sure she will be dressing up in her Precious Little Pirate Costume even after Halloween is over!

Buy It: The Precious Little Pirate Costume ($22.97) can be purchased at www.costumediscounters.com

Coupon Code: Plus, be sure to check out the top of the Costume Discounters website for several coupon codes!

Comfy Pajamas for Boys and Girls ~ Fun Kids Pajamas Review + Giveaway

With the seasons changing and the nights dipping down into the thirties, its time to start looking for warmer pajamas for Princess P. And when shopping for pjs for my Princess, I have to find styles that are warm, because she refuses to sleep under the covers, and that have fun designs (that's how she decides what she wants to wear for the night). Good thing I found a website (or more like it found me) that is dedicated solely to comfy pajamas for boys and girls ~ FunKidsPajamas.com!
Fun Kids Pajamas has hundreds of pajama styles for babies, toddlers and children in a variety of fabrics, prints and designs. Whether you are looking for snug fitting cotton styles, polyester flame resistant pjs or cozy plush bath robes, Fun Kids Pajamas has you covered. Plus, with the holidays right around the corner, be sure to search their website for cute holiday styles that will make for adorable pictures Christmas morning.
Photobucket
Recently, Fun Kids Pajamas sent Princess P two comfy, cozy pj sets to review - the Lazy One Bearly Awake pjs and the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat pajamas. Both sets arrived quickly and delighted Princess P when she opened the box. Of course, being the fashionista that she is, she just had to try them on as soon as we opened the package.

The first set she tried on was the Lazy One Bearly Awake cotton pajamas. Theses sung fitting pjs are super soft and feature a barely awake black bear on the front with "bearly awake" written underneath it. The fun blue bottoms feature the same bear and wording all-over and are trimmed in pink around the waist and cuffs and compliment the pink shirt perfectly. These comfy pjs fit Princess P perfectly and allow her all the room she needs to move, stretch and play. The Lazy One Bearly Awake Pajamas have been washed and dried several times and show no signs of wear or fading. The pjs will be a hit all winter long!
Photobucket
After she modeled those for us, it was on to the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Pajamas. These coat-style pjs are inspired by Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat (one of P's favorite books right now) and are made from 100% Polyester, flame-resistant fabric. The lavender and pink colors are really adorable and the ruffles around the shirt and pant cuffs add a feminine feel. Although she can't put these pjs on all by herself, (she can't button the button's quite yet) they are among her top favorite styles. She loves to wear these pajamas while watching The Cat in the Hat movie and then proudly boasts that she has the "Cat" on her pjs. After washing and drying the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat pajamas several times, I have noticed a bit of pilling on them (which is totally normal for this type of fabric) but that hasn't affected the quality or cuteness of these pjs. I have a feeling Princess P will still be trying to wear these next year!

Buy It: You can purchase the Lazy One Bearly Awake Pajamas ($24.99) and the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Pajamas ($16.99) at www.funkidspajamas.com

My Granny *Update*

Photobucket

(Princess P and her Great-Granny in 2009)

My Granny, who is one of the best people I will ever have the chance to know, has been sick for the last couple of weeks, and yesterday, she had a major stroke. Right now, she is in the Neurological ICU and is paralyzed on her left side. She is trying her best to communicate with us and her doctors, but she is having a hard time getting things out, which is understandable. I did have the chance to talk with her before we left the hospital last night and she could recall some of the events that happened that morning and she told me that she loved me, C and Princess P. Today, we have some major decisions to make and please, if you would, say a prayer for my family and the doctors as we moved forward and try to get the care that she needs.

I am trying, as much as I can, to get emails answered and some blog posts arranged, but my top priority right now is my Granny. So, please understand that I am trying to get things done between being at the hospital with her, the commute (which is an hour and a half one way) and getting some sleep.

Jessica

*Update*

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. They really mean a lot.

Yesterday, on our way down to the hospital, we got a call from my aunt saying that Granny had had a great morning with occupational therapy and she was moving both arms and legs and even attempting to roll over. But, she laid down for a nap afterward and they could not get her to wake up. The CT reviled that she had several blood clots in her lungs and she had severe brain swelling. They put her on life support to help with her breathing (it was very rapid and hard) but decided to take her off because she was suffering and her wish was not to be on life support. As of right now, it is just a waiting game. Most of my family is in town and we have all got to spend time with her in the ICU. This morning, they are talking to the Hospice coordinator about moving her to our local hospital and placing her in a Hospice room there.

My Granny has to be one of the toughest people I know. She is 88 years old (89 in December), raised 8 kids and has been there to help with all of her grandchildren (myself included) and even her great-grandchildren. Life is not going to be the same without her, but we have all come to realize that her number is coming up. Last night, when they took her off life support, they said we were looking at hours. Now, this morning, they said it could be 5 to 7 days. She is stubborn (in the best way) and she will not give up without a fight. Please pray for her and my family as theses difficult days pass.

Jessica

The Gallery Collection ~ Holiday Cards That Leave A Lasting Impression *Review & Giveaway*

Gallery Collection LogoIt seems kind of strange to already be thinking about Christmas, but in reality it is only 78 days away! (As in, 1,872 hours!) And with that being said, it's time to get moving on everything from Christmas shopping to Christmas Cards! So, it's a good thing that I have a wonderful company, The Gallery Collection, on my side to help out in the card department!

I first learned about The Gallery Collection last year when I had the opportunity to review a set of their personalized Christmas Cards. Ever since then, they have been in the back of my mind whenever I thought about our cards for this year. And with their wide variety of Christmas Card styles, I knew I wouldn't have a problem picking out the perfect card to send to our family and friends.Homestead CardWhether you are looking for personalized Christmas cards, company business cards or even photo cards, The Gallery Collection will have just what you are looking for. With almost 400 different Christmas styles alone, they offer a card in just about every theme you could think of. From beautiful snowy landscapes, to peaceful Nativity scenes and even paradise themed cards that have a tropical feel, The Gallery Collection will get you excited about sending Christmas Cards!
Elegant CardThis year, when I learned that I would get another opportunity to review a set of Christmas cards from The Gallery Collection, I was ecstatic! However, there was only one problem. How was I going to choose just one!? After a few hours (and yes, I do mean hours)on The Gallery Collection site, I narrowed it down to my two favorites, which were completely different from last year's card, and ended up going with the Elegant Holiday Surprise Card.
Photobucket
The Elegant Holiday Surprise Card from The Gallery Collection features a crimson and gold holiday package with words like "goodwill", happiness" and "peace" coming from it. Surrounding the words, are silver foil stars and flourishes that really make the card sparkle. And since the card is printed on black stock, the foil finishes stand out even more and give the card a true elegant feel.

When personalizing cards at The Gallery Collection, you can choose from a wide variety of sayings or input your own. Since I can never decide exactly what to say, I went with one of the custom phrases provided. The saying, which is printed in gold foil, turned out perfectly and I just love it! Actually, I love the entire card and I cannot wait until our family and friends see our Christmas card this year! Plus, with the matching gold foil imprinted envelopes, they will get a sneak peek of what is inside before they even open it! Are you excited for Christmas, yet!?

Dumbo 70th Anniversary Edition on DVD and Blu-ray (Review + Giveaway)

On September 20th, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released the 70th Anniversary Edition of Dumbo on Blu-ray and DVD. With a premium restoration in stunning Blu-ray high definition that features a pristine 7.1 Digital Theater System High-Def Surround Sound, you are able to enjoy this animated classic on an entirely new level. Available for purchase as a 2-Disc Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack, DUMBO is a movie that the whole family will enjoy.
DumboIt's so hard to believe that it has been 70 years since Dumbo was first released. (Fun fact: Released theatrically in 1941, Dumbo, Walt Disney's fourth animated film, was an immediate success with critics and audiences alike and received the Academy Award for Best Music and was also Oscar-nominated for Best Song.) I remember watching it when I was a kid and being so upset that Dumbo's mom was locked away. Now, when I watch it with Princess P, I see the movie in an entirely different light than before.

Princess P, being as obsessed with animals as she is, was so excited when I showed her the cover of Dumbo. Having never seen it before, she anxiously awaited for the movie to start. As soon as the stork brought the little baby, she started saying how cute he was, even after she seen his ears. As the movie progressed, and Dumbo was being teased, she kept saying how mean and "not nice" they were being. Of course, she fell in love with Timothy Q. Mouse and was so happy that Dumbo found a friend. In the end, she was excited to see that everyone starts liking Dumbo and that he is finally reunited with his mother again. This has become a movie that Princess P enjoys watching and one that I actually enjoy, too.

Bonus Features

· Deleted Scene – “The Mouse’s Tale
· Deleted Song – “Are You a Man or a Mouse?”
· Taking Flight: The Making of Dumbo – A journey back to the origins of the film as everybody’s favorite baby elephant takes wing.

· Audio Commentary with Pete Docter, Paula Sigman and Andreas Deja

Fall in Love with Tea Collection (Review & Giveaway)

Tea Collection LogoSince the first time I laid eyes upon Tea Collection and their stylish collections, I have wished that I had an unlimited budget because I seriously would love to have each and every piece for Princess P. Unfortunately, money doesn't grow on trees so I've had to settle for a piece here and there. However, my luck recently changed when Tea Collection sent Princess P two adorable outfits for review.
Tea Collection OutfitFounded in 2002, Tea Collection started off with three beautiful pima cotton baby sweaters and a vision of bringing the fusion of worldwide cultures and modern design to fashion. Today, Tea Collection offers a wide variety of designer children's clothing for boys and girls that can be found on their website, in person at one of their Tea Destination Stores, in specialty and department stores and in more than 300 high-end children's boutiques in the U.S., Canada and Australia.

Tea's newest girl's clothing collection, Casa Oaxaca, features a fiesta of flowers and fun. From the bright and bold girl's dresses to the super fashionable cargos, this line will keep your little one in style this fall. Just take it from me, these outfits are fashionable, fun and super cute!
Photobucket
The first outfit Princess P received from Tea Collection featured the Muy Mariposa Henley, the Skinny Cord Cargos in cinnabar and the Puebla Graphic Jacket (from the Mercado Mexicano collection). This outfit is adorable on Princess P and just screams color and culture. The Skinny Cord Cargos match the Muy Mariposa Henley perfectly and really bring out the cinnabar color in the top. I love the way the pretty Henley looks on Princess P (the color and embellishments are perfect!) and when paired with the 3/4 sleeve length Puebla Graphic Jacket, the outfit takes on an entirely new and unique look.
Photobucket
I have to admit, while I love all three pieces in this outfit, I have to say that the Puebla Graphic Jacket has to be my favorite piece. The way the jacket looks on Princess P is simply adorable and I just love the embroidery featured on the front and back. In fact, the designs were inspired by the traditional craft of the OtomÍ people, one of Mexico's original tribes, and many of the designs are said to derive from ancient cave drawings.
Photobucket
The second outfit P received was also from the Casa Oaxaca Collection and featured the Frida Flora Dress and the Skinny Stripe Leggings in plum frost. This outfit is pretty, soft and full of twirl! The Frida Flora Dress is reminiscent of the traditional Mexican clothes worn by Frida Kahlo, the famously colorful Mexican artista, and features blanket stitch detailing at the sleeves and neck. The full skirt allows for maximum twirl and the key-hole button back adds a touch of sweetness. The dress looks great alone or paired with the Skinny Stripe Leggings in plum frost. Either way your little one wants to wear it, it will look simply adorable!

I have washed and line-dried each piece we received from Tea Collection and I can say that every item has held up great. Also, I found the sizing on each item to be spot on and I foresee Princess P wearing these outfits all fall and winter long. Have I mentioned that I adore Tea Collection?!

Buy It: The Muy Mariposa Henley ($35), Skinny Cord Cargos ($45), Puebla Graphic Jacket ($59), Frida Flora Dress ($55) and the Skinny Stripe Leggings ($25) can be purchased at www.teacollection.com
