I browsed through the beautiful silk fans (perfect for hot summer months), the stunning silver charm bracelets and even the oh-so-pretty selection of dresses. However, when I came to the Garden & Patio Decor section and found the Blown Glass Wall Planters "Ice Cubes" from Javier and Efren, I knew that was the perfect item!
The Blown Glass Wall Planters arrived safely from Mexico and were even more stunning in person! Both beautifully crafted planters were created using traditional blown glass techniques that result in a truly unique design. In fact, there are several tiny bubbles in each planter that show just how unique each one can be.

Each Blown Glass Wall Planter glistens like a giant block of ice and both are surprisingly thick in design. On one side of each planter, there is a hoop shaped into the brim that allows for hanging. Since I really didn't want to hang these beautiful planters, for fear that they would fall and break, I decide to turn them into tabletop planters. In the short Blown Glass Wall Planter, I purchased gel beads and added wheat grass seeds. In a couple of days time, after the grass began to sprout, I had a modern centerpiece that I adore.
Now, even though I haven't gotten around to it, I want to keep fresh flowers in the taller Blown Glass Wall Planter all summer long. I think that it would make a beautiful vase and I am so excited to showcase it! Also, for added decoration, I purchased two inexpensive 4th of July decorations and hung them on the hoop. I plan on doing this throughout the year so I can incorporate these gorgeous Blown Glass Wall Planters into my seasonal decor!

Makeover Your Bathroom with a New Mirror

Last fall, we moved into our current home and I immediately went to work repainting, replacing and redoing everything. We painted every room except our guest bedroom/my office (which I'm still trying to decide what to do) and the master bathroom. Well, now that spring has rolled around, I am getting quite the urge to redo our master bath. It is a horrible shade of off white and it is very dated.
When looking for ideas, I decided to look at bathroom mirrors first since they can be the main focal point of the room. Currently, we have a very large, thin wood-framed (told you it was dated!) mirror in there, so I knew it was going to take a special mirror to fill that space. After browsing around, I found the beautiful Venice vanity mirror (pictured above) and thought that it would fit great!

Another option I thought about, was decorative framed mirrors. They are bold, make a statement and can probably dress up any room. When looking online, I found a beautiful mirror that features a solid wood frame, gold leaf detailing and a distressed, dark brown finish. It would look so good in our bathroom! Oh, the options!

Adventurous Gift Ideas for Father's Day

With Father's Day less than a month away, it's time to start thinking about gift ideas. But, if you are anything like me, I am tired of the run-of-the-mill gifts for men. This year, I want to give my dad (and husband, too) something that they will actually enjoy, instead of something they might use one or twice (out of courtesy) and then never use again.
If money wasn't an option, I would love to give my husband the gift of tandem skydiving for father's day. Having been in the military for six years, skydiving is something that he has routinely seen (only not for recreation), but never been given the chance to do. Talk about a thrilling gift!

Now, when it comes to my dad, he is a more of a stay-on-land kind of guy. That's why I was thinking something like a day of quad riding (or 4-wheelin' as we call it here) through the mountains, would be right up his ally. It would be a terrific way for him to explore the countryside while having a bit of fun, too.

When my father-in-law told me he was taking Princess P to the theater to watch Gnomeo & Juliet a couple of months ago, I just grinned and said okay. She had never set through an entire movie at home before, much less one at a theater. Recently, we were sent a copy of Gnomeo & Juliet to review. Now, as much as I knew Princess P was going to enjoy watching this movie, I was almost more excited than her. After hearing that she watched the entire thing in the theater without moving, I knew it had to be good!

Boy, it was! This adorable animated-comedy had me laughing the entire time! It even had my mom rolling with laughter thanks to some added adult humor (that kids will not event notice). Gnomeo & Juliet is full of adorable characters, hilarious scenes and even a bit of lighthearted romance. This movie would make a great edition to your next family night!

Stylish Options for Medical Professionals

With a past in the medical field, (I worked as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) throughout high school and college.) I know how boring uniforms can be. In our small town, we have one or two stores that offer uniforms and they are plain, all-white and definitely not stylish.

But, much to my surprise, I opened the box to find the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet fully-assembled and ready to go!
Packaged in a handy carry-bag, the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach is lightweight (24 lbs), convenient and perfect for parents with smaller spaces (34"x 20"x31). It opens very easily (similar to a play-yard) and set-up time is minimal.

Not only does the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach function as a CO-SLEEPER brand Bassinet, but it also converts to a free-standing bassinet so that you are able to use it in various parts of your house. Thanks to the two caster wheels on one side, the CO-SLEEPER brand Bassinet from Arm's Reach is easy to move and transport from room to room.

Converting the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach from a CO-SLEEPER brand Bassinet to a free standing bassinet is a simple process. First, open the Velcro pocket on the inside and release the 3 straps that go over the bar. Then, you unlock the bottom bar (on the same side) and lift up in the center until it becomes an inverted V. After that, unhook the plastic connector pieces from either side and place them to the top receivers. When the horizontal rial is secured in the top position, the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach can be used as a free standing bassinet.
Inside, the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach features a generous space for baby to sleep, while still not taking up too much space in the parent's room. Also, the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach comes with a mattress and fitted sheet for added convenience. The included sheet fits snugly on the mattress and the mattress actually attaches underneath the sleeping nest (accessible through the lower storage compartment) for a secure fit.
Along with being a smaller, more compact size, the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach also provides plenty of storage for all of baby's needs. Not only do you have storage compartments on either side of the CO-SLEEPER brand Bassinet that are perfect for diapers, wipes and clothes, but underneath the sleeping nest, there is a generously sized storage space. I think that the underneath storage space is a great place to keep larger items like breastfeeding pillows and even breast pumps.

To use the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet as a CO-SLEEPER bassinet, the lowering bar must be level with or below the top of the adult mattress. In order to use it as a CO-SLEEPER bassinet (if the adult bed is higher than 24"), you will need to raise the CO-SLEEPER brand bassinet by using leg extensions that are sold separately.

Overall, I think that the CO-SLEEPER brand Mini Bassinet from Arm's Reach is a terrific item that I am sure we will find very useful when it is time for baby #2. I love the fact that it can be used as a CO-SLEEPER brand Bassinet or as a free standing bassinet, making it a great item to have when traveling. I also love all of the extra storage space it provides. Plus, the fact that it sets-up and breaks-down easy, is a great thing.
