ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer *Review & Giveaway*

The first few days of Princess P's life went pretty smoothly, mostly because we were in the hospital with plenty of support, and when it came time to go home, I really did not want to leave. I knew that we had many sleep-deprived nights ahead of us and I didn't know how we were going to remember everything that goes along with taking care of a newborn. Luckily, my mother and C's father were with us and they helped out tons, but it was still up to us to remember the last time she ate, which side she ate off of and when her last diaper change was. It seems simple, but when you are running off of an hour or two of sleep, the details get kind of fuzzy.

Many new parents are over-whelmed, over-tired and have a difficult time recalling simple tasks when dealing with newborns. I found myself saying, "When did she eat last?", many times when Princess P was a baby. Luckily, the ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer has come to the rescue for all of those new parents out there!
The ITZBEEN (pronounced "it's been"... as in it's been two hours since the baby last ate) is a multi-purpose tool designed to help new parents learn, remember and communicate the basic details of baby-care. The ITZBEEN is not about putting babies on schedules, nor is it intended to relieve parents of their duty and responsibilities in assessing the needs of their baby. On the contrary, the goal was to develop a tool that would help first-time moms and dads become better parents, and to make the job of being a new parent a little easier.
With four different task settings (diaper change, nursing or feeding, sleep or awake and medication or other task), the ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer is the perfect tool for new parents. Simply press the button once after the task is completed and watch the timer count up, letting you know how long it's been since the baby-care task was completed. Another helpful feature on the ITZBEEN, is the Nursing Reminder. By sliding the switch from "L" to "R", you will be reminded of which side baby last fed from. This is something I really could have benefited from when P was a newborn.
The ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer also features a soft-glow nightlight on the top to help you find your way in the dark. When the nightlight button is pushed, it will run for 7 minutes and automatically turn off. Some other features on the ITZBEEN are a button lock, backlight, optional alarms (Allows you to set a maximum time limit for each timer task.) and a back clip for portability.

After trying the ITZBEEN out, I can honestly say that this is a tool all new parents will benefit from. Being able to look at the timer and know the last time your baby ate, without having to guess, helps give you reassurance and peace of mind. Plus, the ITZBEEN is super portable and comes in three different colors (green, pink and blue) to match everyone's style.
