When shopping for clothing for Princess P, I always like to keep an eye out for unique designs that are different from the items that many major retailers offer. Of course, there is nothing wrong with their clothing (Princess P has a closet full), but sometimes I like something a bit more personal and fun. That is why I am currently obsessed with the items from Babykakesink!
Babykakesink! owner and designer, Catherine, grew up with a very talented mother who was always sewing clothes and creating hair bows. Of course, when Catherine had two daughters of her own, it only seemed natural to start making unique and hip items for them. Then, two years later, Catherine took a step of faith and launched Babykakesink!

Catherine was nice enough to send Princess P her very own Alpha Chocolate & Light Pink Swirl long-sleeve tee to review, and I could not be more pleased with the way it turned out! Princess P has already wore this shirt several times now and she gets compliments on it wherever we go!
The shirt's dark chocolate color is perfect for fall and the cute designer swirl fabric is really fun. I also love to look down and see her name printed in the pink lettering. (To me, there is just something special about personalized items!) We received the shirt in a size 2 and after being washed and hung to dry, it still looks and fits like it is brand new. Also, what I love about Babykakesink! is that you have the option to add a matching bow and you can even have it monogrammed! I will definitely be keeping this in mind as Christmas is quickly approaching.

Costume Supercenter ~ Super Costumes at Super Low Prices (Review)

With Halloween right around the corner, it's the perfect time to start searching for that special costume for your child. However, with all of the choices out there, choosing the perfect costume can become an overwhelming process.
I was recently introduced to Costume Supercenter and was immediately impressed with the organization on their site. The navigation bar at the top helps you quickly find what you category you are looking for and the subcategories help you narrow it down to the costume that's just right for you.

Since this will be Princess P's third Halloween, I wanted something that she would enjoy wearing instead of something that I wanted her in. Of course, she still doesn't quite grasp the whole idea and when I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween she just stared at me like I was crazy. So then, I got the brilliant idea to show her all of the Halloween costumes on the Costume Supercenter website. That also didn't go in the way that I expected it to, because she wanted every costume she laid her eyes upon!
Finally, we narrowed it down to several of the girls Halloween costumes and I ultimately ended up making the decision - the Sleeping Beauty Toddler Costume! I really liked the fact that it had some length to it (Halloween's in our area usually end up being really cold) and I also liked that she could wear it to play dress-up after Halloween was over.

The sheer sleeves on the dress add a bit of elegance to the costume, as does the sheer material attached to the skirt part of the dress. Moving = New Furniture

If you happened to catch my post last week, you know that we are moving into a bigger space and I am so excited! Not only am I excited for the move, but I am also excited to fill the space with new furniture! However, we are on a budget, so I really have to pick and choose wisely on what pieces will be joining us in our new home. Umi's Fashionable Fall Collection ~ Review & Giveaway ~

With the temperatures still soaring into the high 80's, its hard to imagine shopping for long-sleeve shirts and fall mary janes. But alas fall is here and at any time I'm expecting these warm summer-like days to turn crisp and cool. In the meantime, there's nothing like browsing Umi's new fall collection full of fresh styles to get you into the fall spirit.
Umi's handcrafted shoes are specially designed for the littlest and most hardworking feet in mind. Years of experience working with age-appropriate lasts, patterns and buttersoft leathers, gives Umi a step up over everyone else. At Umi, their focus is on quality, comfort and style.

When Umi offered a pair of shoes from their new fall collection to Princess P, I was overjoyed! There was only one problem. How was I going to choose just one style? From their fun, floral applique mary janes to their festive and funky boots, it was a tough decision!
Finally, after much debating, I went with the stylish Pendant shoes for Princess P. I figured the fun chocolate color would match a variety of her fall outfits and the floral appliques on the toes would make her stand out from the crowd.
The Pendant shoes from Umi are as much about comfort as they are style. These shoes are designed to last while still supporting growing feet. They also contain butter-soft leathers that allow little feet to breathe. However, one of my favorite features (besides the adorable style), has to be that the rubber sole of the shoe comes up a bit higher on the toe to protect against scuffing. Because with a toddler, scuffing is something that is bound to happen.

Overall, the Pendant shoes from Umi are fun, stylish and great for P's feet. I am sure they will be her favorite shoes of the season.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

To say that life has been eventful in the Piece Of Me household is an understatement. I know that the last personal post I wrote said that nothing was going on in our world, but my how things can change in a matter of a week.

If you have been a reader for sometime, you know that we made a major move last year (moving several states) and we were unable to sell our house. That resulted in us renting it out and moving into a townhouse until our house sold. Well, the house still hasn't sold but we are moving out of our townhouse and into a house! I am beyond excited! Not only will Princess P have an actual yard to play in, but the landlords of this new house are super nice! They said that we can paint, change the counters and basically do whatever we want! We gave our 30 day notice this week and are slowly moving things over a little at a time. I will definitely be posting pictures of our Before and Afters as they happen.

Also, if everything works out, I will be announcing the start of a new blog event in the coming weeks so stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed. Not only am I excited about it, but I am pretty sure all of ya'll will be too!

Again, if you have been a reader for awhile, you know that I started this blog to make a little extra money on the side so I could continue to stay at home with Princess P. That idea completely flopped and that is when I began review blogging. And while I absolutely love to write reviews and host giveaways, it's not bringing in any revenue. So, in order to help pay the bills and contribute to our household, I have started out on a new adventure - selling Mary Kay! It's really a long story (and quite interesting) on how it came about, but that deserves an extra post all on it's own. So if you know anyone who wants any Mary Kay products, I'm your girl! (Insert shameless plug here)

So stay tuned as our world continues to change...

P.S. Is anyone extremely sad that As the World Turns is ending? I grew up watching it and I cannot believe that it is coming to an end! What is going to fill my 2:00 time slot now?

Brillo Announces 'Return to Pink' and Partnership with Breast Cancer Research Foundation *Review & Giveaway*

For review, we were sent the Estracell More Sanitary! Sponge Wipe 2-pack. These convenient sized wipes are perfect for picking up spills on counters or cleaning after dinner messes on your table. I have to admit, that I am a big fan of the pink and green colors! They made doing a dreaded task a little bit more fun.
