Play-Doh ~ Poppin' Movie Snacks *Review*

Most summer days, in our part of the country, start of with a clear, beautiful sky and warm temperatures. However, it is not uncommon for our afternoons to be filled with several passing thunderstorms. So, what is a little one to do when stuck inside because of the rain? Get creative with Play-Doh, of course!
Growing up, Play-Doh was one of my favorite things. So, I was excited to learn that Princess P was going to get a chance to experience the fun when we were sent the Play-Doh Poppin' Movie Snacks set to review. When it arrived, I took note of the 3+ age recommendation, but figured it would be fine since I was close by.
I opened the set and arranged all of the pieces on the kitchen table. Then, I called Princess P into the room and got ready for the fun to begin. P immediately reached for the array of colors and started pushing the Play-Doh into the food shaped molds. At first, I was worried about her mixing the colors, but then I realized it was inevitable. So, I just let her do her thing and have fun.
Of course, being the Play-Doh lover that I am, I had to get in on the fun! I showed P how to place the Play-Doh in the popcorn maker and push on the leaver to make "popcorn". I was amazed at how close to the real thing it actually looked. After making a whole batch of popcorn, we switched over to the candy and fry maker. I placed some yellow Play-Doh in the slot and showed P how to press on the leaver to make the "fries" come out. After making several fries, Princess P wanted to make something with the red Play-Doh. I placed the Play-Doh in the slot and pressed down to make several fun shapes. It was so funny to watch her expression when the shapes appeared.
The only problem we experienced with the Play-Doh Poppin' Movie Snacks set was that some Play-Doh got stuck in the candy and fry maker and was hard to get out. This resulted in multi-colored fries and candy, but hey, it looked pretty cool. Other than that, the Play-Doh Poppin' Movie Snacks set is super fun and a great activity for those rainy days.

Pediped - Fun, Fashionable Footwear (Giveaway)

When the New England Breakfast Gift Basket Deluxe arrived, I could instantly see why it is one of the top-selling baskets at GourmetGiftBaskets.com. The basket was literally overflowing with yummy items just begging to be eaten. I emptied the contents of the basket and instantly got to work.
The fact that it was after 4 pm didn't make a difference to me. I took out the Farmhouse Pancake and Waffle mix and decided that we were going to have breakfast for dinner. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting much. I always assumed that baskets like this were mostly for looks and not for taste, but I am happy to report that I was dead wrong! I used the recipe on the back of the package and whipped up a double batch of the Farmhouse Pancakes and topped them with the Pure New Hampshire Maple Syrup and Wild Maine Blueberries that were also included. They turned out absolutely delicious! I am so ashamed at how many I devoured, that I'm not even going to tell you. But I will say that Princess P ate two whole pancakes!

Flojos ~ Kick into fun. Slip into Style. *Review & Giveaway*

During the spring and summer, you will only catch me in flip flops and sandals. In fact, if our winters weren't so cold, I would probably wear them year round. Flip Flops go with almost everything and I just love the look and carefree attitude that goes along with them.

But the great thing about the Flaunt sandals is that they look as equally as cute with a pair of jeans and a flirty top. After wearing the white sandals all the time, I now need them in brown and pink!

I could not believe that a wool comforter and mattress topper were somehow magically going to allow us to sleep more comfortably. But after reading a bit on the Natura website, I began to understand.

Studies show that people who place a wool pad on top of their existing mattress sleep more soundly and reduce tossing and turning by more than 50%. Also, by adding wool beneath and on top of you creates a temperature regulating, moisture wicking pouch of perfection. The people at Natura call it a Sleep Envelope.
When I placed the Classic Comfort Plus Mattress Topper on the bed, I could instantly see how plush and cozy it was. Made of all-natural ingredients, the topper creates a sweet sleep retreat that will provide a breathable, hypoallergenic haven all night long. The topper contains a double-dose of NaturaWool that offers pressure point buffering to ease tired joints and muscles and invite relaxation. Having the Classic Comfort Plus Mattress Topper on our bed has actually reduced my tossing and turning and provided many great nights of sleep. The only downside to the topper is that it is spot clean only. aden + anais *Review & Giveaway*

From the beginning, Princess P could not stand to be swaddled. She would wiggle and cry until we got her out of the blanket or she maneuvered herself loose. Now, looking back on it, I don't believe the actual "swaddling" part was the problem. I believe that she was very uncomfortable and hot.
It wasn't until after P's birth that I learned about aden + anais and their wonderful muslin products. After reading about them on a fellow blog, I quickly headed to the aden + anais site to check out these "miracle blankets". There, I was greeted by an array of muslin items in a variety of prints and designs.

I recently got to see first hand just how wonderful these blankets really are when aden + anais sent us the Wishing Star Swaddle 4-pack to review. Before I even got the package open, I could tell it was going to be love at first sight! I pulled out one of the 100% cotton muslin swaddles and could not believe how soft and how big it was. Each wrap (47" x 47"), is made extra large for both new and seasoned moms to swaddle babies of all sizes with ease. I have also come to find that they are the perfect size for toddlers, too!
The muslin fabric has a light, open weave that allows baby's body temperature to regulate itself naturally, which helps to prevent overheating. The soft, breathable fabric is also gentle on baby's skin and durable enough for everyday use. As soon as Princess P got a hold of one of the aden + anais swaddling blankets, she would not turn it loose. She now takes all of her naps with it and loves to have it with her when she watches TV.

The aden + anais swaddles are available in a variety of fashion-forward prints and colors. I found the Wishing Star pattern to be completely adorable and gender neutral. (Which will be perfect for the new baby, when the time comes.) Tuffo Water-Resistant Blanket (Review + Giveaway)

During the summer, we try to spend as much time outside as we can. There are just so many fun activities to participate in during the warm months. Some of our family favorites include fishing, picnics and just hanging out outside blowing bubbles (Princess P's favorite). But, as a family of three (including a very active toddler) seating always comes as a challenge. We either don't have enough hands to carry everything, or we end up forgetting someone's seat.
Recently, I came across the Tuffo website and instantly found that their water-resistant blanket was the solution to our problem. I was thrilled to find out that Tuffo was sending us the Dot Water-Resistant Blanket to review. When it arrived, I immediately commented on the pattern. It looked cute on the website, but in person it turned out to be even cuter than expected! The blanket came neatly packaged inside a matching carrying case complete with handles for convenient travel.
When I unfolded the Tuffo Water-Resistant Blanket, I was impressed at the size. It easily fit the three of us and we had additional room on the blanket for Princess P's toys. One side of the blanket has the adorable dot pattern, while the other side features a coordinating water-resistant brown fabric. The water-resistant fabric is such a terrific idea! You don't have to worry about getting the blanket wet when you place it on the ground.

After we had enjoyed our time in the sun, it was time to pack up and leave. I was a bit worried that I wasn't going to be able to fold the Tuffo Water-Resistant Blanket like the way it was, but thanks to the helpful instructions, I got it back into the carrying case in a flash. Another feature that I didn't notice until it was time to go, was the handy pocket on the front of the case. It is the perfect size to hold a cell phone, snacks and a drink. Overall, I think that the Tuffo Water-Resistant Blanket is perfect for many of the outdoor activities our family participates in. It will also make a great indoor picnic blanket in the cooler months.

Wordless Wednesday: Princess P's New Favorite Toy

It is a duster, hobo pack, playtime companion, shopping buddy and loofah (no, she doesn't bathe with it) all rolled into one. It even has a name - blue, and it has to go with us everywhere!

Pediped + Memory Foam Technology = Total Comfort

If you haven't noticed by now, I have a slight obsession with Pediped shoes. There's just something about those adorable, soft-soled shoes that steals my heart. But now, I have even more reason to love them!

Princess Linens Review & Giveaway

I have never spent the night away from Princess P, but I am thinking that might change this summer. With all of her grandparents and great-grandparents close by, it is bound to happen sometime. Since P is becoming less of a helpless baby and more of an "independent" toddler, she wants to help with everything. Guidecraft (Review & Giveaway)

When I was little, I received a table and chairs set for Christmas one year and I loved it. I used it for tea party's, marathon coloring sessions and I believe I even ate several meals on it. So, when Princess P began to show interest in all these things, I knew it was time for her very own table and chairs set.

Recently, I discovered Guidecraft and fell in love with all they have to offer. Each beautiful wood creation from the family-owned company sparks the imagination and allows children's minds to truly wonder and grow. And when I saw the Noah's Ark Table & Chairs on the Guidecraft website, I knew we had a winner.
Guidecraft generously sent us the Noah's Ark Table & Chairs to review. When the set arrived, I could not believe how neatly each piece was packaged! With C at work, I decided to unwrap each piece and organize them for when he got home. Well, as soon as I saw the beautifully crafted pieces, I couldn't wait any longer! I got out C's tool set and went work.

Thanks to the easy-to-follow instructions and neatly labeled pieces, I had the Noah's Ark Table & Chairs together in no time. When the set was complete, I was in awe of its solid craftsmanship and beauty!
One of my favorite things about the Noah's Art Table & Chairs from Guidecraft is the hand painted, hand-carved chairs. Both chairs feature a different animal scene that depict the story of Noah's Ark. Each chair is super sturdy and made from solid wood. There is no doubt that they will last for many years to come.
The tabletop is painted a beautiful green with a set of two different animals at each corner. In the middle, there is a removable Noah's Ark center panel with a storage bag below. This is a perfect feature for storing small toys or craft supplies. Princess P loves to put her play food in the storage bag and pull it back out when it is time to play. I love the storage bag because you can sweep everything into it and replace the center panel and voila! - you have clean table!
The Noah's Ark Table & Chairs from Guidecraft is absolutely adorable and it even looks great in our living room! Every time we have visitors over they comment on how beautiful the table is and how they wished they had one for their kids. I just know Princess P is going to have so many fun adventures with her new table and chairs set.

Happy Father's Day

I have been blessed in the fact that I have a wonderful father. He has stood by me no matter what and he has seen me through thick and thin. He has always picked me up when I'm down and comforted me in a way that only father's know how.

Princess P is also very lucky to have a wonderful daddy. When she was born, it changed him in a way that I didn't think was possible. Whenever I catch him singing to her or her reading a book, it just melts my heart and puts a huge smile on my face. And despite being somewhat of a mommy's girl, her face lights up when she sees her daddy walk in the door.

Father's are wonderful things! Happy Father's Day!
