Evenflo Snugli Sway *Review & Giveaway*

When Princess P was a newborn she had to be held all the time. The first couple of days we didn't mind because we were bounding with our baby girl, but after awhile it became impossible to get things done. Especially when C returned to work and I was left alone with her. After not being able to accomplish some of the most simple tasks, like doing laundry and washing dishes, I turned to baby wearing as a way keep her soothed while I was hands-free.
However, our adventure into baby wearing started off a bit rocky. The sling that I had purchased when I was pregnant ended up being too small and P was very uncomfortable in it. If I had only known then about the adjustable Snugli Sway from Evenflo, I am sure we would have both been more comfortable in our baby wearing endeavor.
The Sungli Sway soft carrier from Evenflo is unlike any I have ever seen before. There are so many great features that make this carrier stand out from the competition. The first feature that I absolutely love is the interior safety harness. That's right, this sling is equipped with a buckle-style safety harness that holds baby securely and positioned properly. The interior of the sling is covered with breathable soft, plush fabric that nestles your newborn comfortably and safely.

Another terrific thing about the Evenflo Snugli Sway is that it is ideal for breastfeeding. The carrier easily adjusts for positioning and the elevated head pillow allows for proper support. There is even a handy pocket on the shoulder strap for added storage.
The Snugli Sway is designed with an extra-wide shoulder strap for comfort and the slide buckle allows for quick and easy adjustment. But one of the things that I love the most about this carrier is how easy it is to get baby in and out of. Instead of placing your baby in the sling while it is on you (which can be a hassle) you lay the Snugli Sway down, place baby comfortably in it and then slip it over your head and arm. This makes getting the carrier on you in the parking lot of a store a whole lot easier, at least for me anyway. With the Snugli Sway from Evenflo you can easily get things done while still having baby comfortable and close.

Wordless Wednesday: One Man's Trash is Another Child's Treasure

Last week, our bathroom cabinet decided it no longer wanted to live with us so it fell apart. First, one of the doors came completely off than the other one followed suit. Luckily, no one was injured during the process. It was late at night when it happened so we just moved it downstairs into the kitchen to get it out of the way. Well, before we could get it out of the house, Princess P discovered it. And that is where she played and imagined and played and pretended all day. (And before you ask, no those are not nails that she is playing with. They are the pegs that hold the shelves.)

As you may recall, we recently transitioned Princess P's cribs into a toddler bed. And now that her "big girl" room is starting to take shape, I am regretting some of the furniture decisions we made when designing her nursery. The biggest one, choosing a standard changing table over a dresser that can be used as a changing table. But thanks to the wide selection of products offered at BabyCribsPlus.com (one of CSN's many stores) I will not have any problem finding a replacement!

Things Remembered Mother's Day Review & Giveaway

As I sit here and type this I am in complete disbelief that Mother's Day is right around the corner. Just a couple of months ago I could not wait until spring arrived and now time seems to be flying by. Chili's New Freshly Prepared Menu (Review) + Shout Out To Eat Out

There have been many nights in the POM household where I've had absolutely no desire to cook dinner. But as a wife and mom, I really don't have a choice. We gotta eat! And I'm not about to ask C to cook because we will end up with his "famous" fried bologna and egg sandwiches on our plate.
I recently heard that Chili's Grill & Bar unveiled a new freshly prepared menu that was to die for. Now, we are not regular Chili's customers (mainly because we don't have one close) but we do try eat there when we are out of town. So, when I was offered a $50 Gift Card to sample the new menu at Chili's I jumped at the chance. Not only were we going to be treated to great food for free but that also gave me an excuse to go shopping and a night off from cooking!

Several days after the gift card arrived our little family of three and a close family friend, who I will call Uncle G, made the long trek to the nearest Chili's Grill & Bar. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly faces and were immediately seated. As soon as we made our way to our seats the ultimate test began, what to choose off the new menu.
After pondering over the (delicious looking) menu, we were ready to order. First up was Uncle G. He decided on the Big Mouth Bites. The description of four mini burgers topped with applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, sauteed onions and ranch dressing sounded too good to pass up.
Next up to order was C (so much for ladies first!). Being a bit of a heat-seeking daredevil he opted for the Jalapeno Smokehouse Bacon Burger. He loved the idea of a juicy burger topped with bacon, smoked cheddar, tortilla strips, red onion, mayo, jalapenos and jalapeno-ranch dressing.
When my turn finally came I decided to go with the Classic Bacon Burger (apparently we were all in the mood for burgers). The thought of a classic burger topped with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, red onion and mayo sounded like the perfect dinner after a day filled with lots of shopping.
Princess P broke the cycle of burgers by proclaiming that she wanted chicken for dinner. After looking over the Chili's Kids Menu I ordered her the Kid Chicken Nuggets served with fries. Because what kid doesn't love chicken nuggets and fries?

It seemed like hardly any time had passed when the waitress came around the corner with our food. As we shuffled the plates around and tried to get organized I could smell the pleasant aroma radiating up from everyone's dishes. I got Princess P situated with her food and then dug in myself. After a while, I noticed a strange noise that had surrounded our table - silence! Everyone was so busy eating that we didn't have time to talk. After devouring half of my burger, I sat it down and took the time to ask C and Uncle G how their food was. Both of them just looked at me, smiled and shook their head. In our world, that means it's awesome!

The valve system on the Explora Truly Spill-Proof Sippy Cup is unlike any other that I have seen before. That is because its active sensor valve is designed by a physicist to be both so sensitive that liquid flows on demand, yet not leak or spill when tipped or knocked over. The two-part valve is simple to remove and put back into place. However, I have noticed that when the clear piece and the white plastic piece are not completely pushed together, some leaking does occur. Both Princess P and I love these sippy cups and would definitely recommend to other moms who are looking for a "truly spill-proof" sippy cup.
Another wonderful line that Tommee Tippee offers is the Closer to Nature Bottle line. These bottles are inspired by nature and developed in conjunction with midwives, breastfeeding moms and babies. Closer to Nature bottles are intuitively designed for easier, more natural feeding. The bottle features a uniquely soft, super-wide nipple that naturally flexes and stretches like the breast and the natural shape lets baby latch on effortlessly, easing transitions between the breast and the bottle. Wordless Wednesday: Parade

Last Saturday, my town celebrated the opening of a new local arts school by holding a street fair and parade. Princess P and I had the honor of riding in the parade with my father-in-law (who owns a restaurant right across from the new school). Since the restaurant is a BBQ restaurant they went with a "pig" theme for his car. It was super cute!

Shopping for spring clothes has to be up there on my list of favorite things to do. The prints, colors and designs of warm weather clothes always seem to brighten my day. Especially when I am shopping for spring items for Princess P. One of my favorite children's clothing websites that I always turn to for fun and trendy designs is Tea Collection.
It is hard to believe that Tea Collection started out in 2002 with only three pima cotton sweaters. Today, they offer two full assortments, Tea Collection and Daily Tea. Each line is available in more than 400 stores and boutiques throughout the U.S. and abroad. The tagline for Tea Collection is "for little citizens of the world", which celebrates the beauty found in cultures around the world.

After browsing through the airy designs and festive prints that make up the girls Tea Collection spring line, I was thinking of ways to purchase Princess P a whole new wardrobe without C finding out. Luckily, Tea Collection saved me from getting into a bit of trouble when they agreed to send me an item to review.
One of the things that Princess P seems to always be in need of is pajamas. So I was elated when I opened package from Tea Collection to find the Tossed Butterfly Pajama Set in milk. This adorable short sleeve/shorts pajama set is made from luxurious pima cotton that is brushed inside for extra softness. The outside of the pajamas feature a fun print that Princess P loves and the cozy design allows her to sleep comfortably. The Tossed Butterfly pajama set from Tea Collection washed and dried beautifully without fading or losing its shape. These fun pajamas make getting ready for bed a little less of a hassle.
