Apericots Organic Clothing (Review & Giveaway)

Apericots LogoAs parents, we always want the best for our children. So why should our healthy decisions stop at the foods they eat? Why not take it one step further to include the clothing they wear everyday.
Apericots Sparrow PantsI recently came upon the Apericots clothing website and couldn't believe the facts that were before my eyes. Like this one: According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, seven of the top 15 pesticides used on U.S. cotton crops are potential or known human carcinogens. If that isn't enough to make you even consider organic clothing, I don't know what is.

The creative minds behind Apericots banned together to form an environmentally friendly and unique alternative to the baby clothes available today. At Apericots you can purchase fun and colorful predesigned styles or you can choose to customize the organic baby clothes just the way you want them. Either way you are helping take care of Mother Earth while giving your baby the very best.
Princess P in the Bubble Tree shirtApericots sent Princess P the Bubble Tree shirt in Disco Purple to review. This 100% certified organic cotton tee features a lap-over neckband for easy on-and-off and durable yet comfortable interlocking seams. The vibrant purple color has stayed bright wash after wash and really stands out amongst the other clothes in Princess P's closet. I love that the Bubble Tree shirt is super soft and comfortable against Princess P's skin. The style, quality and design make this shirt a welcomed addition to P's spring wardrobe!

Sunglass Warehouse *Review & Giveaway*

Sunglass Warehouse LogoSeveral years ago I had no problem spending a ridiculous amount of money on a cute pair of sunglasses. I was young and didn't have anything better to spend my money on. Now, I look back on it and I can think of a million things that would have been more beneficial, especially now that we have Princess P.
Sunglass Warehouse SunglassesSo, these days when I need a cute pair of shades I mainly look at price and durability. I need sunglasses that can withstand a toddler and be easily replaced if they do, in fact, get destroyed. However, one thing I am not willing to compromise on is style.

Up until recently, I headed to a local retail store to purchase my "cheap sunglasses". But not anymore! Now, I am doing all of my shopping at Sunglass Warehouse. They offer a wide variety of sunglasses for both men and women at unbelievably low prices. Sunglass Warehouse even offers styles that are comparable to designer brands like Ray Ban, Prada, and Ralph Lauren. To make things even easier, Sunglass Warehouse added sections on how to choose the best sunglasses for your face shape and skin tone.
Me in the Sunglass Warehouse SunglassesSunglass Warehouse sent me the Shield Style #1244 in the Gold/Tortoise Frame with Gold Lenses to review. When the shades arrived I could not believe how cute they were! The colors are great and I really like how they fit my face. The open sides gives these sunglasses a trendy look while the UV400 protection keeps out harmful ultra violet rays. The sunglasses also feature adorable crowns on either side for that perfect touch. And while they may look like expensive designer sunglasses, I won't be crying if I lose them or Princess P gets a hold of them. Because I can replace the Shield Style #1244 sunglasses for only $13.56 at Sunglass Warehouse!

High Sierra Review & Giveaway

High Sierra LogoThese days it seems C spends more time on the road and at work than home with us. Normally that would mean more money in our pockets but that just isn't the case. You see, C takes his laptop and other work related items back and fourth with him and they take a heavy beating during the commute. That usually results in us having to replace them with the extra money he made. But that isn't the case anymore thanks to the Swerve Day Pack from High Sierra.
High Sierra SwerveThe High Sierra Swerve is a fully functional day pack with a padded computer sleeve that holds most 15" notebook computers. With it's sleek design and variety of color options, the Swerve is a great choice for those looking for organization and style. In addition to the padded computer pocket, the Swerve features a multi-compartment design with side-mesh water bottle pockets and a MP3 player pocket with headphone port.

Features at a glance:
  • Multi-compartment design with side mesh water bottle pockets.

  • Padded computer sleeve, with back-access, holds most 15" (screen size) notebook computers (max size: 15.5" x 10.75" x 1.8")

  • Deluxe rganizer compartment with multiple pockets and removable key fob.

  • MP3 player pocket with headphone port.

  • Easy-access hanging accessory pocket.

  • S-shaped Vapel mesh Airflow padded shoulder straps with Suspension System, and thumb-ring pulls.

  • Fully-padded bottom, Vapel mesh padded grab handle and back panel.

  • Adjustable side compression straps.

  • Dual side mesh compartments.
Swerve Day PackWe received the Swerve Day Pack from High Sierra in the Navy/Charcoal/Black color to review and I have to admit that it is a perfect fit for C. The padded computer compartment keeps his laptop safe and secure during the long commute and the smaller front pockets are great for storing his chargers and external hard drives. He loves the fact that the computer sleeve has a back opening so he can easily access his laptop. I like the fact that the shoulder straps and back panel are padded for added comfort and support.
Swerve Day PackSwerve Day PackWith all of its organizational room, the Swerve Pack is also great for traveling. I found that the front pocket is great for storing small but important items like passports, keys, change and cell phones. While the larger back compartments are great for holding items like magazines, books, snacks and a lightweight jacket. C is also pondering the thought of using the High Sierra Swerve Day Pack as a Diaper Bag because it's more "manly".

Pink Chicken {Review + Giveaway}

Pink Chicken LogoAround the first of fall last year I happened to stumble upon an adorable online clothing store named Pink Chicken. Intrigued by the name, I began browsing through the deliciously cute girls dresses and skirts. Each time I clicked on a different image I couldn't help but to envision the item on Princess P. It did not take long for me to fall in love with the cotton poplin print dresses, perfectly matched cardigans and coordinating leggings.
Pink Chicken DressBut now that spring is upon us, I am ready to ditch the heavy threads and dive into to something bright and cheerful. That goes for Princess P as well! So, I once again headed back to Pink Chicken to catch a glimpse at their spring lineup. And trust me, it did not disappoint!

While browsing through the Pink Chicken spring line I found sunny prints, Bohemian inspired designs and a swim line that will definitely make a splash (no pun intended). But this time something else caught my eye - a women's line! That's right, Pink Chicken now offers delightful tops and dresses in womens sizes. I so see a matching mother-daughter day coming up!

After contacting Pink Chicken, I was thrilled to find out that they were sending me one of their little girl's dresses to review. When the packaged arrived I could hardly contain my excitement as I opened it up. Inside, I found the adorable Sasha Dress in a 2Y staring back at me.

The Pink Chicken Sasha Dress is a vintage inspired botanical print dress that features beautiful shades of yellow, green and orange. The front is gathered and adorned with two orange glitter buttons that add the perfect touch. The back of the dress is accented with an adjustable tie that completes the look.
Princess P in the Sasha DressAs soon as I slipped the dress on Princess P I was giddy with excitement. The bright colors and airy design will definitely make this versatile dress a staple in her spring and summer wardrobe. In fact, it has already made an appearance! Only this spring day was a bit below average so I paired it with a long-sleeve white top and khakis. The fact that it can be worn many different ways is definitely a selling point to this mommy. On cooler days Princess P can wear the Sasha Dress with leggings. In the hot summer months she can sport it alone or with a diaper cover. And for the chilly fall months the dress will look great with a pair of jeans and cute mary janes. I did want to note, however, Princess P is on the taller side for her age so the dress is already getting a little short. But thanks to the adjustable tie in the back she will be able to wear the dress as a top well into the fall months.

ERGObaby Carrier Review & Giveaway

ERGObaby LogoOne day as I was browsing around the pregnancy message boards, before Princess P arrived, I saw a thread for a certain brand of slings that had been drastically reduced in price. Babywearing had been on my mind for sometime so I decided to go ahead and buy one since they were so cheap. After Princess P arrived, and was big enough to fit in the sling, I decided to try it out. I immediately noticed that the sling was too tight around my body and fit very uncomfortably. And it did not take long before Princess P let us know exactly what she thought about it. Needless to say, that was the last time we attempted to put her in that sling.
ERGObaby CarrierUp until recently, I had been unable to find a baby carrier that fit comfortably for both me and Princess P. It was either one way or the other. I had heard wonderful things about ERGObaby Carriers but was hesitant to purchase one. I did not want to get one and then it end up on the closet shelf collecting dust. So I was thrilled when I learned ERGObaby was sending me the Organic Blue Carrier with Embroidery Applique to review.
ERGObaby CarrierWhen the ERGObaby Carrier arrived it was love at first sight! The organic blue fabric feels great to the touch and the embroidery appliques makes the carrier great for a boy or girl. There are also so many added features to the ERGObaby Carrier that I did not expect. Some of my favorites are the sleeping hood that adjusts in length with growth of baby and the zippered pocket for added storage.
ERGObaby CarrierSince Princess P loves to be held, especially when I have a million things to do, the fit is the most important aspect in my book. If a carrier is not comfortable to wear than it is worthless to me. So when I first inspected the ERGObaby Carrier I was excited to see the shoulder straps padded with one inch high density foam. I also really like that the waist belt is padded with high density neoprene foam for added comfort.

The first position I wanted to try with Princess P was the back carry position. To make sure I was doing everything right I practiced putting it on in front of a mirror and over a soft surface. After a few minutes of adjustments, mainly to the shoulder straps, the ERGObaby Carrier fit perfectly! Now came the ultimate test, how did my shoulders and back feel after carrying around Princess P for awhile?
Princess P in the ERGObaby Carrier(No matter how hard we tried, she refused look at the camera!)

I am delighted to report that I was in no pain after wearing Princess P. The waist belt did a great job supporting her weight and the padded shoulder straps did not hurt my shoulders at all. I really enjoyed having her so close while still having my hands free to take care of other tasks. I also think she enjoyed getting to see everything from a "higher" point of view.

One of the best things about the ERGObaby Carrier has to be that it grows with your child. It can be worn in the front from birth to 6 months (with optional infant insert), the back from approximately 6 months on and on the hip. The carrier is ideal for babies 7-15 lbs with the infant insert and 15-40 lbs without. The safety features on the ERGObaby Carrier are also exceptional. Reinforced stitching is used at all fabric intersections. The high quality buckles are tested by SGS and the durability and strength of the carrier is tested up to 90 lbs. The ERGObaby Carrier is also ergonomically designed to support the baby's spine and promotes the healthiest position for baby's hips while the are carried.
ERGObaby CarrierThe ERGObaby Carrier is by far the best carrier I have used. I am able to carry Princess P comfortably while still getting things done around the house or in town. So far we have tried the back and hip carry positions and I really like them both. Now I just need a newborn to test out the front carry position!

Expressiva Nursingwear *Review & Giveaway*

Expressiva LogoThe entire time I was pregnant with Princess P I knew I wanted to breastfeed. I took the classes and read the books but nothing really prepared me for the road it would take me on. One category I quickly learned I knew nothing about was nursing wear.

In an attempt to be semi-prepared before P arrived I bought a couple of cheap nursing bras and that was it. I did not splurge on the expensive brands nor did I purchase any nursing tops or tanks. I figured that I would wear the tops I already had and make them work one way or another.
Expressiva TopMy non-nursing shirts worked fine for the first couple of weeks when we mostly stayed in the house, but it wasn't long before I was having issues in public. But even with all of those problems, I still faced a bigger one - nursing at night. I always found myself tangled in my nightgown or unable to lift my t-shirt fast enough to satisfy Princess P. It wasn't until recently that I came across the perfect solution, Expressiva Nursingwear.

At Expressiva Nursingwear you will find a wide selection of nursing tops, dresses, bras and sleepwear to fit everyone's style. They also carry eco-friendly items as well as fashionable swim wear, slings and accessories. Expressiva Nursingwear's goal is "To make your nursing experience more enjoyable and more stylish - so that you will feel confident and comfortable breastfeeding for as long as your nursling desire."
Expressiva Shorts SetExpressiva Nursingwear generously sent me the Sleek Maternity/Nursing Shorts Set in green to review. What instantly drew me to this shorts set is the fact that it can be worn both throughout pregnancy and while you nurse. The ultra-comfy fabric feels great against my skin and the shorts have a comfortable elastic waist that is not restrictive. Another great feature about this set is the convenient nursing access. Simply move aside the split-front fabric for no-fuss breastfeeding access. The Sleek Maternity/Nursing Shorts Set is available in several different color options and is perfect for lounging around the house or catching up on much needed sleep.

EA SPORTS Active More Workouts *Review*

EA SPORTS Active More Workouts LogoWhen I made my New Year's resolution this year I was bound and determined to stick to it. I was tired of feeling overweight and self-conscious and I wanted to shed those extra pounds that stress and an unhealthy diet had packed on. So, at the first of the year I bit the bullet and bought EA SPORTS Active for Wii. I was excited to try it but was a bit hesitant at first. I kept thinking "Is this really going to work?" After suffering my way through the first workout (yes, I was that out of shape) my question was answered. Especially the next morning when I could barley walk down the steps.

It wasn't long before I was on track and committed to working out five days a week with the 30 Day Challenge. My arms and legs burned (a good burn!) after each set of reps and I actually felt accomplished at the end of my daily workouts. Still, I couldn't help but to feel that something was missing. It only took one glance in the mirror to find out what that something was. My abs.
EA SPORTS Active More WorkoutsAfter only a few minutes of research I found the key to my future success, EA SPORTS Active More Workouts. This next installment from the EA SPORTS Active franchise will keep you going on your journey towards better health. With over 35 all new exercises, the EA SPORTS Active More Workouts is a full-body workout that will help you obtain results.

I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of EA SPORTS Active More Workouts to review. As soon as it arrived on my doorstep I was ready to start. I opened the box to find not only the More Workouts game but also an exclusive EA SPORTS Active edition Best Life Diet Book by Bob Greene.

When I started EA SPORTS Active More Workouts, I was able to import my personal information and fitness stats from my existing Fitness Profile in EA SPORTS Active. After finishing up some additional information I was ready to start. I chose to do the 6 Week Challenge to help motivate me and get me in shape.

As soon as I began the workout I immediately noticed differences in the games. For instance, the background is definitely different with the relaxing (and somewhat motivating) beach scene. I also really like the fact that the warm-up in the EA SPORTS Active More Workouts is a variety of different stretches designed to get your body ready for the workout. And then the real test began...
EA SPORTS Active More Workouts SceneThe 6 Week Challenge started off with completely new and challenging workouts. Not only was I working out my upper and lower body, I was also doing ab and cardio exercises. The great thing about the workouts during the 6 Week Challenge is that they are grouped into different themes so you avoid overworking any one muscle group. Another great feature that I like is that the intensity of the workouts from week to week gradually increase at a pace that you are comfortable with.
EA SPORTS Active More Workouts SceneI have to admit that the ab workouts are definitely challenging but I feel myself getting stronger each week that I do them. I also find myself really sweating through some of the carido workouts. But to me, that means I am actually accomplishing something. In all honesty, I like EA SPORTS Active More Workouts better than I do EA SPORTS Active. I feel that it has more workouts targeted to different areas of your body than the first one does.

Now for the moment of truth... I have lost 6 pounds since I first began working out with EA SPORTS Active More Workouts and eating a more healthy and balanced diet. While I still have around 8 more pounds to loose before I reach my ideal weight, I am pretty happy with those results!

Buy It: You can purchase EA SPORTS Active More Workouts at Wal-Mart, Amazon.com and Best Buy. You can also buy it online at the EA Store for $39.95.

This review is based strictly my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the product listed above. EA SPORTS provided More Workouts free of charge and I provided my honest opinion. No other type compensation was received for this review.
