Sampler Village {Review & Giveaway}

Sampler Village LogoGetting surprises in the mail completely make my day! I tear them open in anticipation, play with the new goodies for a little while and then I return to my regularly scheduled day. That was the plan I had envisioned when the surprise box from Sampler Village landed on my doorstep. Open, play and walk away. That was, of course, until I opened the box.
Sampler Village Large BoxWith the wide success of Sampler Village it is hard to believe that it was just founded several months ago in September 2009. Founder Traci Porczynski used to keep busy with her magnet business, Fun & Funky Retro Magnets, but now her days are dedicated to scouring the web for the finest handcrafted artisans out there. Sampler Village is built on the premise of helping crafters get their products noticed. The Sampler Village boxes are available in two different sizes, regular and mega, and contain samples from a variety of artisans.
Sampler Village Box ContentsFor review, Sampler Village sent me the regular Spring/St. Patrick's Day Themed Box with 18+ handcrafted goodies inside. The festive box arrived neatly packaged and adorned with a shamrock on top to complete the look. When I opened the box it was like opening a Christmas stocking on Christmas morning. I was greeted by a pleasant aroma and a mound of goodies to look through. Each time I removed one sample from the box I found an equally fabulous one underneath.
Sampler Village Box ItemsIn the Sampler Village box I found great smelling and adorable shaped soaps, wonderfully scented candles and tarts, luxurious lip balm and lotion and a couple of fabulous items that will turn my bath time into spa time.
Sampler Village Box ContentsAlso included in the large sample box that I received were St. Patrick's Day themed items, spring goodies, and one-of-a kind products like unique crayons, retro magnets, flavorful teas and place markers.

The Sampler Village boxes contain more than wonderfully handcrafted samples. Many of the artisans have included coupon codes to their online stores so you can score your favorite products at great prices. And if you are thinking of purchasing a Spring/St. Patrick's Day Sampler Village box, I wouldn't wait too long. They are already sold-out of the mega boxes (they sold out in 1 day!) and only have 8 large boxes left in stock! But don't worry, the March Easter Themed boxes will be on sale before you know it!

Pawparazzi Pets Review & Giveaway

Pawparazzi LogoPrincess P has been obsessed with animals since she was born. One of her first words was puppy and every time you asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween she replied "puppy-dog!". But since we moved into a small apartment with virtually no yard the chance of a dog joining our family became slim. So what is the next best thing to man's best friend? A lovable pet from Pawparazzi!
Pawparazzi Pets are special celebrities that have talent and class. They approach the world with open hearts and support causes that make their world better. Along with being great friends, Pawparazzi Pets are trendy fashion accessories that girls can engage with on many levels. Among the pets are; Daisy - the hard-working tennis star, Indy - the famous author, Lexi - the flamboyant fashion designer, Misty - the tenacious news anchor, Roxy - the energetic talk show host and finally Toby - the eccentric artist.

Each Pawparazzi Pet comes with a stylish purse, matching leash and collar, a cozy blanket, a celebrity magazine to keep with the latest trends, a matching mini note pad and a pop-out trading card on the back of the box! Your Pawparazzi Pet can even be the envy of the fashion world with the hip outfits that are sold separately. Also available for your little celebrities are comfy Pet Beds, Hotel Pawparazzi and the Pawparazzi Luxury Set.
Pawparazzi PictureNoodle Head made Princess P's day when they sent the Lexi Pawparazzi Set, the Winter Holiday Fashion Set and the Leopard Pet Bed to review. The sets are recommended for ages 4+ so I removed any small pieces that may pose a chocking hazard before handing them over to Princess P.
Pawparazzi PictureAs soon as she saw Lexi, the pink poodle fashion designer that loves to shop, her eyes lit up! She immediately began petting her on the head and saying "my puppy" over and over. I handed her the leopard print pet bed, perfect for a flamboyant fashion designer, and she laid Lexi down to rest. After her "nap" was over Princess P and I dressed Lexi in the Winter Holiday Fashion Set and put her in the purse for a quick trip to the store. Princess P then carried Lexi around in her purse all afternoon only stopping to take a bath. I think she likes Lexi so much because she is just her size! The only problem I can find is the boots that come with the Winter Holiday Set are a little hard to keep up with.

Inflatable Fun

This past Sunday we made the weekly 20-minute trek to my Granny M's house for afternoon dinner. (Here in the south dinner is served at lunchtime and supper is served at dinnertime). After dinner was devoured, the dishes were washed and the family was caught up on the latest gossip, it was time to head over to my other Grandma's, Granny F, house as usual. Only, this Sunday was a bit different than normal (more on that in a different post).

Princess P had been in a whiny and aggravated mood all afternoon, mostly due to the fact that her afternoon nap did not go as planned. We returned to my Granny F's house to eat dinner, homemade chicken pot pie (no wonder I have gained so much weight!), but P was not having any of that. After escaping from her chair and dashing off into the living room, this is what we found...

Princess P with Balloons
A seemingly happy baby (caught orange red-handed)....

Princess P with Balloons
A baby that looked like she had napped all afternoon...

Princess P with Balloons
Ah, balloons. They are a mood changer!

Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag {Review & Giveaway}

Mrs. Smiths Logo
When I first went shopping for a diaper bag, before we even knew Princess P was a girl, I was all about the style of the bag. At that time I was childless and had no idea that I should be shopping for the function of the bag rather than the look. Almost two years later and I am regretting the decision of purchasing the bag that fit the look of my lifestyle before baby. With the help of a certain diaper bag, I now know what it feels like to have function and style!
Mrs. Smiths Diaper Bag PearlAfter many mornings of scrambling to get out the door, Mrs. Rachael Smith realized that she spent too much time worrying about the little details and not enough time focused on the essentials. It all came to a head one day when she tried to juggle the demands of her infant daughter and toddler son at the airport. While digging through her traditional diaper bag to find her sons beloved toy, Rachael accidentally spilled her daughters bottle all over the bags contents. Finally, in desperation to find his train, she emptied the entire bag into a chair. After locating the toy, she shoved everything back into the bag and hurried to board the plane. Once seated, Rachael looked at the disorganized and dripping wet bag and thought "I can do better than this!" Minutes later, she began sketching the ultimate diaper bag. Now, two years later, she proudly introduces the Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag.
Mrs. Smith's Diaper BagMrs. Smith's generously sent me the Pearl Diaper Bag to review. When I opened the bag up I could not believe my eyes. Is this what I had been missing all of these years? (Well, more like 1 year and 8 months.) The top part of the diaper bag is ideal for storing clothing, bottles and sippy cups, first-aid kits, diapers, rash cream and wipes. Also located in the top of the bag, in the bag's flap, is a washable, full-sized changing pad.
Mrs. Smiths Diaper BagBut it has to be what is in the bottom of the Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag that makes it so special and unique. Located in the bottom zippered compartment is a fully removable drawer for complete organization. The drawer has three-separate compartments that are perfect for formula, baby food jars, snacks, toys or anything else you might want.
Mrs. Smiths Diaper BagAnother great feature of the Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag is that is it easily converts from a shoulder bag to a backpack in a few simple steps. This is perfect for hectic airports, shopping malls and park trips when you need hands-free use.
Mrs. Smiths Diaper Bag
Things that fit perfect in the Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag:
  • Two bottles and one sippy cup in their own insulated holders
  • Jars of baby food
  • Two pacifiers
  • Lots of snacks and toys
  • Four to five sets of clothing
  • Wipes in a their own wipes container
  • Six diapers
  • A washable, full-sized changing
    pad (is included!)
  • And dedicated places for your keys, cell phone, sunglasses, credit cards, cash, ID
    and water bottles
Mrs. Smiths Diaper BagOverall, I think that this bag can hold a lot of stuff in an organized way. I found that the top is perfect for storing Princess P's change of clothes, diapers, wipes and first-aid kit. While the bottom of the Mrs. Smith's Diaper Bag has been deemed the "Snack & Clean-up" drawer. It usually contains snacks, juice boxes, wet towelettes, bibs and hand sanitizer. The outside pockets are great for holding P's sippy cup and my cell phone and keys. The back part of the bag is great for storing books, small toys and in our case, the mail. I do have to admit that this diaper bag is a bit bigger than our old one and would be perfect for moms of infants and moms with more than one child.

The Brag Company *Review & Giveaway*

Jane Webb had a problem. Whenever she traveled her expensive bras kept getting ruined in her suitcase. She searched high and low for a product that could protect her bras when she traveled but no one had a solution. So Jane, a then SAHM to two daughters, decided to take matters into her own hands and enrolled in a business start-up program. After that, Jane signed up with a product development company to get her idea off of the ground. After many months of failed designs and product "tweaking", the Bra Bag was born!

When C was in the military we traveled a lot. We were constantly making the 4 hour trek home to see family and friends or we were headed in the opposite direction to the beach. Either way we were going, I always dreaded the packing. I would carefully place my bras on top of all my other clothing in hopes that they would not get crushed in the transportation process. But like Jane, the inevitable always happened and I wound up with bras that were misshapen and creased. That was, of course, before I found the Bra Bag.
The Brag Company generously sent me the Emily Bra Bag to review. When it arrived I could not believe how adorable it was! The chocolate design is accented with multi-colored polka dots and frilly pink trim. The Bra Bag keeps your bras secure with the help of two snap closures in the front. To keep them safe, the bag has a hard form that will shield them from the harsh elements of travel. Depending on the size and style of your bras, the Bra Bag can hold 1-6 bras up to a size 36C, as well as size 32D. (The Brag Company also offers the Bra Bag Buxom that holds 1-6 bras size 36G or 38F cup.) I found that with the majority of my bra styles, 3 bras fit comfortably in the Bra Bag with room for a couple more if needed. The Bra Bag also has a convenient handle located at the top for those times you need to grab it and go.
Another problem I faced when we were traveling was getting my clean panties mixed up with the dirty ones. (Don't act like it has never happened to you!) And that stylish plastic grocery bag I was carrying the dirty one's around in just wasn't cutting it. That is why I was so excited when I heard that The Brag Company also offers Panty Paks. The Panty Paks, which come in styles to match the Bra Bags, keep the "clean" and "not so clean" panties separated. The lightweight travel bag zips shut to keep you organized and the two inside zippered pockets keep your "clean" and "not so clean" undergarments in their respective spots.
I also received the Emily Panty Pak from The Brag Company to review. This handy little bag has a mesh zippered pocket that is labeled "clean" on one side and a non-mesh zippered pocket labeled "not so clean" on the other. I love the the outside "panties" are actually two pockets for additional storage. I was able to fit five pair of folded panties easily on the "clean" side and the same amount of unfolded panties on the "not so clean" side. From now on, I am not traveling unless the Panty Pak goes with me!

At The Brag Company you can also find the Mini Clutch in bra and panty designs. This handy little wristlet is perfect for holding all of the essentials like your cell phone, credit cards and your favorite lip gloss. And for your luggage The Brag Company offers the Bag Tag, the cutest luggage tag you have ever seen!

Johnson's Baby Products - A Baby Shower Essential

We were fortunate enough at our baby shower to receive an entire years worth of baby skincare products. Seriously, we did not have to purchase any baby lotion or wash until Princess P was over a year old. Among the majority of items we received were Johnson's Head-To-Toe Baby Wash, Johnson's Baby Lotion and Desitin Diaper Rash Cream.
Johnson's Baby LotionBefore Princess P was even born, I would sneak into her room and open the Johnson's Baby Lotion just to smell it. The classic pink lotion, to me, is quintessential baby. I would rub a bit on my arm and admire how soft it left my skin. Even now that P is a toddler, we still rub her down with Johnson's Baby Lotion when she gets out of the tub.

Another Johnson's product we have come to love is the Baby Bedtime Bubble Bath & Wash. The calming sent helps Princess P relax before bedtime and the gentle baby wash leaves her skin feeling soft and clean. And the fact that it doubles as both a bubble bath and baby wash makes it ideal for traveling!
Johnson's Gift SetJohnson's baby products make the perfect gifts for baby showers. Trust me, I know! A simple and great gift is to grab a basket, diaper bag or beach bucket (if it is a summer themed shower), fill it with items like Johnson's Head-To-Toe Baby Wash, Johnson's Baby Lotion, Johnson's Baby Shampoo and Desitin, tie a ribbon around it and your done! You will have a great gift that both mom and baby will love!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Johnson’s and received samples of Johnson’s Baby products to facilitate my review.

MD Moms - Baby Silk Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes {Review & Giveaway}

MD Moms LogoWhen moms need advice and recommendations on baby products the first people they usually turn to are fellow moms and their child's pediatrician. But what would happen if those two teams joined forces to create a product line developed especially for babies skin? I would imagine the outcome to be exactly like the products offered at MD Moms.
MD Moms Gift SetWith a quarter of a century caring for children and advising thousands of new parents under their belts, Dr. Diane Truong and Dr. JJ Levenstein created Baby Silk, the first pediatrician-developed personal care line for babies. Inspired by the needs of their patients and their own children, they created a prescription for baby's healthy skin.

As pediatricians they know baby's body and skincare needs. Their products include pure, advanced ingredients that are gentle enough for sensitive skin but are still highly effective. Each product protects from environmental damage while still maintaining the skin's natural moisture barrier. As moms they also know the importance of products that do double duty and are easy to use one-handed. MD Moms products are formulated so small doses provide big results and they are packaged so they easily travel everywhere you do.
MD Moms Cleansing TowelettesMD Moms sent us the Baby Silk Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes Travel Pack to review. The small package holds 12 generously-sized wet towelettes that are easy to grab with one hand. The alcohol-free hypoallergenic formula contains an exclusive marine silk complex, antioxidant vitamins E and B5, as well as organic aloe, ginger root and chamomile to protect, soothe, refresh and clam. Each soft, fabric-like towelette cleanses baby's face, hands or even bottom gently and effectively.

The Baby Silk Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes Travel Pack fits perfectly in Princess P's diaper bag and is easy to locate whenever I need a helping hand. The towelettes have successfully helped me tackle sticky sucker messes and runny noses without a hassle. The alcohol-free formula leaves P's skin feeling soft, refreshed and smelling great. (I do want to note that while I love the smell of the towelettes, they may be a little overpowering to those who are sensitive to smells.) Overall, I think that the MD Moms Baby Silk Gentle All-Over Clean Cleansing Towelettes Travel Pack is a great buy for those times you are on the go and at only $5.00 a pack they are a steal!

Congratulations! I have sent you both an email and you have 48 hours to contact me.

I have some exciting news to tell you about (think blog event) and some great reviews and giveaways to post as soon as my blog design is fixed. My traffic numbers have dropped drastically these last few days and I am afraid people are removing my button because it is just an add for Photoshop. But hopefully it will be fixed soon!

That brings me around to another thing. I am looking to change my design. Something more Wordpress-ish if possible. So if you know someone that can make it happen and work within a limited budget please let me know!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day!

Reasoning

Today was a horrible day.

Or so I thought...

I woke up to find my blog covered in a lovely message from Photobucket stating "Bandwidth Exceeded". Normally, this would not have been a problem but the account that the images are connected to is not mine. So I contacted the lady who done my blog design only to find out that she was out-of-town.

Great for her, bad for me.

All I could think of was "What are my sponsors going to think?" "Am I going to lose potential review/giveaway sponsors when they see this?" "Is it going to effect my traffic?"

Meanwhile, Princess P was being extremely whinny and would not get off of my lap. Don't get me wrong, I love it when she loves on me. But it gets a little annoying when she erases something important and I have to re-type it five times.

Finally, The Fresh Beat Band comes on (Princess P's favorite show) and things started to look up.

Or so I thought...

I kept refreshing my blog hoping to find it restored back to normal but the only thing changing is my alexa ranking (that's good I guess). So I moved on to Photoshop to tackle an exciting project I have coming up. Big mistake! I could not get the editing features to work and it was just infuriating me even more. I quit that project and decided to try another one.

I gathered Princess P up (after The Fresh Beat Band went off, of course) and we headed into the kitchen to work on her Valentines Day cards. That will be fun right?!

Not so much.

The only thing she wanted to color was the placemats and the table. I decided to distract her with Goldfish while I finished up the cards. One project down, many more to go.

I headed back to the computer hoping to find my blog back to normal. It wasn't, so I went blog and Twitter hopping. After visiting several blogs I was feeling envious of some fellow bloggers because of the wonderful reviews and giveaways they are hosting. Incredibly shallow, I know.

Today sucks.

Or so I thought...

I came across a tweet from a mom who is losing her two-year old daughter (@LaylaGrace) to cancer, something a parent should never have to face. As I went back and read through her tweets my heart sank and I began to sob.

Then I prayed.

I prayed for sweet Layla Grace and her family. I prayed that they find comfort and peace in the coming days. I prayed for a miracle.

I continue to pray.

I thought of all the "horrible" things that had happened to me throughout the day. The thought of losing sponsors, being envious of other bloggers, wanting Princess P to watch t.v. instead of spending time with her. How incredibly shallow and selfish of me. How could I think that those things were horrible when a family is battling to keep their sweet miracle?

I asked for forgiveness.

God always has a way of putting things in perspective.

(Sweet Layla Grace, you are an inspiration.)

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. -Matthew 21:22

Wee Rascals *Review & Giveaway*

Wee Rascals LogoThe day we brought Princess P home from the hospital it was 102 degrees outside. It was stifling hot. I remember walking into our house, where our family stayed while we were in the hospital, and it was a cool 72. While it felt great to me, I was worried that P was going to freeze. I quickly changed her clothes, added socks and a hat, and put a blanket over her. (Hey, I was a first-time mom and she hated to be swaddled.) Then nighttime came and I remember what we were told at the hospital before we left, "Never put a baby to bed with a blanket." Looking back, I wish we had had a Sleep Sack from Wee Rascals to keep her warm throughout the night.
Wee Rascals Sleep SacksWhen the Wee Rascals founder had newborn twins, she quickly learned the benefits of swaddling. However, it wasn't long before the babies had outgrown the many receiving blankets she had been given as gifts. So her mother, who is a professional seamstress, came to the rescue with bigger ones. Later, when the twins were a bit older, the mother-daughter duo talked about selling the receiving blankets that had come in so handy. After talking to some girlfriends, who were also new mothers, the idea of Sleep Sacks was brought up. The team instantly knew that they could fill the void and began work on larger sleeps sacks, sleep sacks with prints and even organic sleep sacks. Today, Wee Rascals offers a variety of items specially made for baby!
Wee Rascals Organic Sleep SackFor review, Wee Rascals generously sent us an Organic Sleep Sack in the Buttercup color. This adorable sleep sack is made with 100% organic cotton interlock fabric and is unbelievably soft. The interlock fabric has a touch of stretch so baby can move with ease. To allow for easy dressing, the sleep sack has openings at both shoulders and a top opening zipper and zipper tab. Each Organic Sleep Sack is double-lined so that there is 2 layers of interlock cotton to keep baby warm throughout the night. And the adorable giraffe applique adds a touch of fun! I simply cannot wait to dress baby #2 in the Wee Rascals Organic Sleep Sack.

At Wee Rascals you can find different items perfect for baby. The Extra-Large Receiving Blankets and Taggie Blankets make perfect baby shower gifts while the Crib Sheets and Changing Table Covers are great additions to any nursery.

Gift the Bambino Giveaway

Gift the Bambino LogoYour baby shower is something you always hope to remember. All of your guests have come together to celebrate this new life and shower you and your bundle of joy with gifts of love. I know I will never forget walking around our baby shower and being blown away by the generosity of people. From the gifts, to the food and decorations, it was amazing.

One thing that really stood out was our beautifully decorated diaper cake. My aunt created it in the theme of Princess P's nursery (and the theme of the shower) and it was used as the main centerpiece. When we got it home all I could do was stare at it. I did not have the heart to take it apart and use the contents.
Snow Princess CakeNow, whenever I am attending a baby shower the diaper cake is the first thing I set out to find. How many tiers does it have? What are the colors? What's on the inside? In most cases, my curiosity is satisfied and I return to the festivities happening around me. That was, of course, until I gazed upon the sweet shoppe creations from Gift the Bambino. I cannot look away!

Gift the Bambino was started nearly two years ago with the goal of creating modern baby gifts to take the place of more traditional ones. Each item from Gift the Bambino is truly unique and custom made just the way you want it. Products range from Cupcake Duos (2 washcloths, 2 bodysuits, 1 spoon) to Don't Dunk 'Em Donuts (6 washcloths, 1 spoon, 1 receiving blanket) and of course Diaper Cakes!
Boat CakeDiaper Cakes from Gift the Bambino are custom made using your theme and color choices. They come in a variety of different sizes including Two-Tier (20 diapers, 2 receiving blankets, 2 washcloths, 1 bodysuit, 1 spoon and 1 bib) and Three-Tier (35 diapers, 3 receiving blankets, 2 washcloths, 2 bodysuits, 2 spoons, 1 pair of socks and 1 bib). These Diaper Cakes are also unique in the fact that they are built to minimize the time spent trying to detach the products. The new parents can simply slip off a few ribbons and enjoy!

If you are looking for a modern twist on baby shower gifts or a contemporary diaper cake, Gift the Bambino is definitely the place to turn.
