Keep Your Child's Feet Toasty and Dry with Stonz Booties {Review & Giveaway}

As January comes to an end it is encouraging to think that spring is right around the corner. Or, at least that is what my mind keeps telling me. You see, I am ready for warmer weather for several reasons. One of the those being that I have a toddler who will not keep her socks and shoes on. I am constantly chasing her around putting them back on only to find her without them five minutes later. On one of my many late night conquests, I came across Stonz Wear and instantly became intrigued by their fleece-lined booties.

The story behind Stonz Booties happens to be one of fate. Lisa, a very active mom based on Canada's West Coast, struggled to find warm footwear for her young kids. With her five-month old son in a backpack, Lisa resorted to wrapping scarves around his legs to keep them warm. When she met another mom who had 6 years earlier made a boot for her child that looked a lot like a fleece-line chalk bag, she instantly knew these booties could fill a void in the market. When they joined together, they created some bootie samples that had a fleece-lined interior and a coated nylon exterior.
To put the booties to the ultimate test, Stonz sent us a pair of Booties in the Daisy Brown design to review. At first glance the booties look like a very stylish appliqued bag with two adjustable toggles. But upon closer inspection I found an ingenious idea that Princess P has a hard time escaping out of!

(She had so much fun wearing them that she was worn out!)

The first thing I noticed (and loved) about the Stonz Booties was the wide opening at the top. This makes slipping the booties over bare feet, socks, slippers, sleepers and Stonz Linerz so much more easy . The thick fleece-lined inner provides warmth and comfort to your child's feet while the durable coated nylon uppers keeps their feet warm and dry. The Booties also have a soft skid-resistant sole that is recommended developing feet. One of the things that makes the Stonz Booties so special is the two adjustable toggles at the calf and ankle. This feature allows you to tighten around your child's foot for a custom fit and ensures that the Booties stay on!

La Choy Creations ~ Teriyaki Chicken Review

Typically our family dinners are planned a day or two ahead. And even in some cases the prep work is done in advance to save time. But then there are the nights when I get thrown a curve ball and my carefully thought-out meals just don't happen. Those are the nights that I need to have a La Choy Creations meal stashed in my cabinet.
These new one-skillet meals can add an Asian flair to your table in a snap. Each box comes with all of the ingredients you need to create a flavorful meal in just 20 minutes. All you have to do is combine the ingredients with your choice of protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, whatever you choose) in a skillet and your done. When the time is up you have a delicious meal that was easy to prepare and even easier to clean-up!
We were given the opportunity to try the La Choy Creations Teriyaki Chicken and see for ourselves just how easy it was to create. The night I choose to make this meal happened to be one where time really was an issue. I opened the box, poured out the contents and quickly got to work. After cooking the chicken, I added the included ingredients and let the Teriyaki Chicken simmer. When the time was up we could not wait to dig in.
I paired the Teriyaki Chicken with fried okra and crescent rolls (a little weird I know) and we ate up! The La Choy Creations Teriyaki Chicken was really good, however, C thought it was a little on the sweet side. Aside from the ease of preparation, I was most impressed at the amount of food it made. Typically boxed meal kits only make enough for me and C but with the La Choy Creations Teriyaki Chicken there was plenty to go around and even enough left over for C to take to work.

Bella Tunno {Designer Diner} Review & Giveaway

Eating out has become a rarity for us these days. Not only because of the economy (new job = less money) but also because we have a squirmy toddler who refuses to sit still. Sometimes, though, we get lucky and the paycheck gods swing us some extra money (in the form of holiday pay) and we get to relish in all of the deliciousness that is Applebee's. But usually as the story goes, 5 minutes into dinner and I'm fishing the coloring page out from under the table, C is trying to capture all of the escaped crayons and Princess P is doing some Houdini move out of her highchair. There has to be something that will keep her occupied and satisfied! --> This is where Bella Tunno comes to the rescue.<-- I first fell in love with Bella Tunno when I was shamelessly"window shopping" at babyGap. The bold colors and modern prints delighted my eyes while the design and function made me want to snatch up every product I saw. Just imagine my reaction when I found out Bella Tunno had a website with a copious amount of new products and prints to feast my eyes upon.
While browsing through the Bella Tunno website I came upon a brilliant little product called the Designer Diner. This handy little mat does double duty with a wipe-clean placemat on one side and a reusable chalk mat on the other. The Designer Diner also includes a 12 piece box of (non-toxic) chalk hidden in a coordinating pouch that easily detaches. And mamas, don't worry about it taking up your whole diaper bag. Simply roll the Designer Diner up and tie the matching ribbon to secure.

Hoping that the Designer Diner would keep Princess P occupied throughout dinner, Bella Tunno sent us the Sweet Tooth Designer Diner to review. As soon as I opened the package I fell in love with the fabric and ribbon colors. Each are unique but blend together so nicely. I also love that the rolled-up size of the Designer Diner is a perfect fit for our diaper bag. The chalk mat was a first for Princess P. After sampling the chalk (do not act like your kids don't do it!), she discovered that she could color on the mat and not get scolded for it. Thus led to at least 7 minutes of blissfully uninterrupted adult conversation. When she finally realized what was happening she handed me a piece of chalk to join her. Her doodles soon covered the entire mat so I handed her a napkin and showed her that she could erase it and start over again. When it was finally time to eat I wiped the chalk mat clean and flipped it over. After a few minutes of P wanting to flip the placemat back over to the chalk mat side I finally had to hide the chalk so she would eat. The only problem I ran into, besides P wanting to color and not eat, was that the chalk broke into several different pieces (it brought me back to my elementary school days). So I had to switch out the chalk box for a ziploc bag. But good news, it still fits in the detachable pouch!

Kolcraft Hosts Silent Auction to Benefit Children in Haiti

With the devastating images from Haiti pouring in and the death toll rising, many of us here at home are left feeling helpless. Unable to just sit back and watch, Kolcraft rolled up their corporate sleeves and decided to host a silent auction to help the children of Haiti. They have partnered with the charity KIDS who has a relief fund for Haitian children who are affected by the earthquake.
The silent auction features products from Kolcraft's Contours line (there are $1,000 worth of items to bid on) with all proceeds going to the KIDS relief fund. This runs just like a regular silent auction but instead of writing the bid amounts on paper, you post the bid as a comment under Kolcraft's Facebook post of the item. X-Center-O by Endless Games Review & Giveaway

Tic-Tac-Toe has often helped me pass the time in certain situations. Whether it be during a long speech or as a form of entertainment in a power-outage, I have always found a willing partner ready to play. In most cases the game ends just as quickly as it started or it results in a tie. And with paper space usually limited, it can get very frustrating.

It just so happens that I was recently introduced to X-Center-O by Endless Games. This fun game puts an exciting new twist on the classic game of tic-tac-toe - there will always be a winner! The game comes with a game board, 3 "O" tokens, 3 "X" tokens and helpful instructions.
We were lucky enough to receive X-Center-O to review. As soon as it arrived I was anxious to get the game set-up and start playing. There was literally no assembly required. All we had to do was take the board out of the box and unwrap the 6 tokens and we were ready to play. After reading the instructions we learned that each token is numbered from 1-6 and that they needed to be played in numerical order. This keeps the game going and makes it more interesting. After several games C came out the champion but I managed to win a game or two.

This is a fun addition to our game collection and I am sure it will be played again and again (especially when the power goes out!). The simple set-up and ease of use also makes this game great for game night. Endless Games also offers a variety of other games that will make your family game night's a blast!
