MirrorMate: Custom Frames - For Your Mirror! (Review + Giveaway)

From the get-go, I knew the things I wanted to change in our new home. The wall colors in almost every room needed to be changed, many of the light fixtures needed a makeover, and the mirror in the guest bathroom had to go.

Upon moving in, we had all the rooms painted and the light fixtures changed, but we hadn't been able to find a mirror that we liked to replace the one in our guest bathroom. Turns out, we didn't need to replace the mirror in order to change the look of it - we just needed a MirrorMate frame!

After contacting MirrorMate, I was thrilled to find out that we were being sent a custom frame to review. Since I had been browsing the site for days, I had already picked out the frame I wanted, but I still needed to get the measurements of the frame. Luckily, MirrorMate emailed me their custom ordering form that guides you through the measurement process. After C and I had all the information filled in, we sent it in and waited.

Seeing that it is made-to-order, I figured we would be waiting awhile for the frame to arrive. Boy, was I surprised when the frame showed up 3 days after sending in our information! Yes, 3 days!! I was in such disbelief that I had open the package right then for proof.
Inside the box, I found the Grandezza Frame in the aged silver tone. And I have to say, the frame is so beautiful in person! Even though we don't have an "Italianate feel" like the website describes, I find it fits perfectly against our suntan colored walls and the nautical/beach theme that is in our guest bathroom.
After the frame arrived, C and I read over the instructions and began the frame assembly. Using the supplied glue, we spread an even amount of glue on the ends of the frame, pressed the ends together and then inserted the slot connectors, wiping off the excess glue as we went. (Trust me, it was super simple.) Then, all we had to do was wait for the frame to dry.

MirrorMate's frames are made to fit any mirror, but certain large clips (holding up the mirror) won't work properly with the frame. Should you have problems fitting your frame to the mirror, replace the old clips with the replacement clips that you can order with your MirrorMate frame. Since we didn't want to take any chances, we installed the replacement clips on our frame.
When the frame was ready to go and our mirror was cleaned, it was time to install the frame. We carried the frame to the mirror and positioned it in place, making sure it covered the mirror on all sides. We got the frame where we wanted it and used the placement corners, that were provided, to ensure that the frame was in the correct place when it came time to affix the frame. (Of course, I didn't get a picture of this since we were busy getting the adhesive strips ready.)
Once we rechecked the mirror with the level, we pushed the frame toward the mirror and pressed firmly along the entire surface to affix it permanently. Now, I was worried that the frame wouldn't stick (because I'm paranoid like that) but after tugging on it bit, I was assured that it wasn't going anywhere.
Before even removing the placement corners, I could tell what a difference the frame made. When we got the mess cleaned up, and removed the placement corners, we stood back to take a look at our newly framed mirror. And let me tell you, it is like a whole new bathroom. Seriously! I cannot believe what a difference a frame made. It not only looks a thousand times better, but it honestly makes the room look taller and more refined. The only problem now, is convincing C that we need a MirrorMate frame in our mater bathroom!
