Bright Starts - InGenuity Playard (Review & Giveaway)

I have always thought that playards were a convenience item and not necessarily a necessity. I know they are great for people who travel a lot and need somewhere for baby to sleep. They also seem to come in handy for people with two story homes. But I never really pictured C and I as "playard people". Well, my mind was recently swayed in a different direction.
When I found out that I was getting the opportunity to review the new InGenuity Playard from Bright Starts, I was very excited. Of course, I was stoked about the product, but even more, I wanted to find out why people love playards so much.
The package from Bright Starts arrived quickly and I wasted no time setting the InGenuity Playard up. Being a complete newbie, I went over the instructions twice just to make sure I understood. Well, I later came to find out that there was no need to double check the instructions because the InGenuity Playard is super simple to assemble.
When the InGenuity Playard was fully open, one of the first things to catch my eye was the fabric. The adorable fabric contains neutral tones to match any decor and is perfect for a boy or a girl. After taking a minute to admire its cuteness, I discovered the bassinet.
The bassinet is a terrific feature for little one's up to 15 lbs. It keeps them secure and comfortable while still being at a great height for mom's and dad's. But one of my favorite features has to be the 2 sleeping positions. Just by unzipping a portion of the bassinet, baby can sleep flat or slightly inclined.
Another great feature on the Bright Starts InGenuity Playard that I didn't expect, is the changing table. The changing table easily attaches to the Playard and pivots to the side when not in use. The height is perfect for parents and allows easier access to baby. Also included, is an extra-large storage tray that can hold a full box of wipes, diapers and much more.
After discovering all of these additional features, I had to take a peek at where baby sleeps when the 15 lbs weight limit is reached. So, I removed the mattress pad and the stabilizer poles and then unzipped the bassinet from the Playard. Easy enough, right? I then placed the mattress pad on the bottom of the Playard and the transformation was complete. Of course, no sooner than I finished, Princess P was climbing over the side to try and get in. After a few minutes of failed distraction, I let her sit in the Playard. Much to my surprise, she was happy as a clam and threw a fit when I attempted to get her out.

When it came time to fold the Playard, I was a bit nervous. I don't know why? The process went just as smoothly as the setting up did. And one feature that is sheer genius and I absolutely love, is the One Less Step feature! It allows you to quickly fold the Playard without removing the bassinet. The InGenuity Playard from Bright Starts is the only playard to have this feature and if you ask me, that is a huge selling point.
I got the Playard folded up and in the travel bag without a hassle. And then, I sat down and took a moment to think. How did we make it without a playard when Princess P was a baby? Yes, most of it is convenience but that is the great thing about it! With the Bright Starts InGenuity Playard you can have one central station set up just for baby anywhere you go.
