KidsCraft Playhouse Review + Giveaway

It never fails. We go out and buy Princess P a super cool new toy and when we get home she ends up playing with the box more than the expensive toy that was in it. But I can totally relate, I spent many childhood days building "houses" out of cardboard boxes. It was a fun (and cheap) way to express our creativity and use our imaginations.

While I love seeing the smile spread across Princess P's face whenever we have tea parties inside those tiny cardboard boxes, I hardly have the time to make them feel like home. Recently, a brand new company was brought to my attention with the perfect solution. KidsCraft Playhouses offer cardboard playhouses that are made from 100% recycled materials. They use an ingenious flap and slot design so no cutting or taping is needed. Also, one of the great features of the KidsCraft Cardboard Playhouses is that they can comfortably fit 2-3 children.
We were sent the Creation Cottage Cardboard Playhouse from KidsCraft to review. When it arrived I could not wait to put it together and see what it was all about. I believe I was more excited than Princess P as I pulled the pieces out of the box.
After we fixed a little mix-up with the instructions, Princess P and I got to work putting together the walls and roof. It took me a second to figure out how the flaps were inserted, but after I got going it did not take long at all. As soon as I got it finished Princess P started moving all of her furniture inside. I was super amazed at how spacious the Creation Cottage was on the inside and the amount of light that comes in through the windows and skylight. P loves to pop her head out the windows and play peek-a-boo with anyone that's around.
The KidsCraft Creation Cottage Cardboard Playhouse has managed to stay together fairly well despite the beating it has taken from Princess P. She did end up tearing the front window when she leaned out a little too far but it was nothing a little tape couldn't fix. I do recommend, however, that when you set the playhouse up, make sure it is where you want it. I have found that by moving it around too much we have loosened up the slots and the flaps won't stay in place as good as they first did. Despite that fact, the playhouse has provided hours of entertainment for Princess P.
