Coco Bonbons Review & Giveaway

When I look into Princess P's closet everything seems to blend together. The clothing designs are the same. All the colors are either a shade of pink or purple. And there are really no pieces that say "I'm a kid and I'm fun". Maybe that is why I fell in love with each of the clothing collections at Coco Bonbons. They are full of color and fun!

I instantly fell in love with this outfit as soon as I picked it up. The long-sleeve dress features an empire waist with a gathered skirt and adorable black and white ladybug stitching over a bubble hem. The perfectly matching white Ladybug Tights are accentuated with black and white polka dots and feature ladybugs at the ankles. Together they make an adorable outfit and look super cute on!

The dense 100% cotton fabric that the Ladybug Dress is made of will keep Princess P warm this fall and winter. Not to mention the wonderfully thick Ladybug Tights that she will be sporting under it. These tights are perfect for cooler temperatures and I don't have to worry as much about them picking or ripping. I have already washed this outfit twice, on the gentle cycle with cool water and then laid flat to dry, and it has came out beautifully with no piling or color fading visible. Coco Bonbons has definitely become one of my favorite places to purchase fun clothing for kids!

If you have read my blog at all then you know I am particular about the toys Princess P plays with. I love fun, educational toys that are safe to play with and bring a smile to her face. When I heard about Green Toys and the recycled toys that they produce I was very intrigued and wanted to see them for myself.

Who would have thunk that the milk jugs we drink from everyday could be made into fun, colorful toys!? Well, that is exactly what each toy is made from at Green Toys. With a product line ranging from a Cookware and Dining Set to a very green Recycling Truck, Green Toys has something to please every child.

Each Green Toys product is made in the USA and undergoes rigorous safety testing. They contain no traces of Phthalates or BPA and are designed without any external coating, eliminating the fear of lead paint. Green Toys also sticks to their environmental mission right down to the packaging they put their toys in. All Green Toys are packaged in recycled corrugated boxes with no plastics, cellophane or twist-ties, and are 100% recyclable.

Green Toys sent us the Chef Set to review. Since Princess P loves to be in the kitchen and help me cook I knew she would fall in love with this set! And I was right, it was love at first sight! She pretends to cook in her blue stock pot and then dips me out a bite with the green ladle. After she is finished with that she cooks something up in her skillet using the coffee table as a cook top. She flips, stirs and creates imaginative dishes with the help of her green spatula, all while sampling it as she goes along. I love to watch her play with the Chef Set because I can almost see her imagination at work. I just wonder what she is cooking all the time? The Chef Set has wonderful bold colors that keep her attention and the pieces give her endless culinary possibilities. It is hard to believe that these adorable creations were once home to the milk we drink everyday.

Lamaze Play House Gym Review & Giveaway

Princess P had a standard activity mat when she was smaller. She use to love looking up at all the shapes and colors. Then she learned how to roll over and she did not want anything to do with the activity mat again. We packed it up and it made its way to the back of the closet with the rest of her baby items. I only wish we had known about the Lamaze Play House Gym from Learning Curve when we purchased her other activity mat.
The Lamaze Play House Gym has three different stages that grows with your child. The first stage is focused on tummy time and "lay & play" with an age range of newborn+. In this stage your newborn can gaze at the colorful shapes and characters that hang above. On the arch there is a removable baby activated sun features lights and music perfect for visual tracking. In this stage there is also a tummy time mirror for self-discovery.
Stage 2, or the sit and play stage, is for babies 6 months and older. Here you will find a cushioned double sided mat for twice the fun. Baby will love to explore the different scenes and the different textures on the mat. You can even remove the toys from the arch in Stage 1 and incorporate them into playtime.
Babies and toddlers 9 months and older will enjoy Stage 3. In this stage Lamaze has combined learning with fun by featuring matching games and imaginative role play with the girl and boy dolls. Babies will love the fun sounds that the colorful shapes make and toddlers will have fun playing peek-a-boo with the happy family.


When the Lamaze Play House Gym from Learning Curve arrived I was a little worried about how large it was going to be and how much space it was going to take up. That was not the case at all. While there is plenty of play space, the Play House Gym folds up nicely for easy storage and portability. I was impressed at the amount of cushion in the mat and at how soft the fabric is. Another one of my favorite features is the "soft Velcro". It is not scratchy like regular Velcro which makes it perfect for baby's sensitive skin. Princess P loves to play with the girl and boy dolls and she also likes to try to match the shapes to the mat. I love that the Lamaze Play House Gym grows with your child and transforms with each stage of baby's development.

K'NEX Sesame Street Police Station Building Set Review

As soon as the K'NEX Police Station Building Set (Ages 2-5) showed up Princess P wanted it out of the box. So out of the box and onto the floor it went. Luckily her Grandpa was here to help her put it together. After a few minutes of trying to figure out how to build the Police Station, Grandpa had to refer to the Play & Learn Activity Sheet for help. That seemed to do the trick because before no time P was playing with Elmo and Ernie in the Police Station.


I love that this 44 piece set has larger pieces so they are easy for Princess P to hang on to. I also like that the building possibilities are endless. I think that P's favorite thing about the K'NEX Police Station Building Set is Elmo and Ernie because she is always carrying them around and taking them apart. I do recommend maybe getting a storage container to keep the pieces in because they will get lost (we have already lost a window).

A great thing about the K'NEX Sesame Street Neighborhood Collection is that they can be used as individual sets or you can purchase the coordinating items to build your own neighborhood. Along with the Police Station Building Set you can get the Police Car Building Set that comes with Elmo dressed as a police officer! The Neighborhood Collection also includes the 123 Brownstone Building Set and a separate Ice Cream Truck Building Set.


These K'NEX sets aren't just for play. Your little one may not know it, but as they put the pieces together they are working on their hand-eye coordination as well as improving their cognitive skills. The Sesame Street Building Sets are also encouraging imaginative play and language development.

Now that Princess P is mobile injuries are inevitable. It seems like I am always trying to find a tiny band-aid in a diaper bag that is filled with stuff. And my DIY first aid kit (aka a Ziploc Bag) was less than stylish and needless to say, it didn't impress any of the other moms on the playground. Hearthsong Review & Giveaway

Princess P has become quite the animal enthusiast. So when it came time to make her holiday shopping list this year I knew some kind of critter had to be on it. As I browsed through the toy catalogs and online ads nothing really caught my eye or screamed "She would love that!". When it arrived I could not wait to get it out of the box and see the expression on Princess P's face. As soon as she saw the Bay Horse she went running toward it to give it a hug, and it fell over on her. After some readjusting of its front legs, they were bent slightly backwards, and some coaching, P reproached the horse to give it some love. This time the greeting went more smoothly and she fell in love.


While she is still a little young to sit atop the Bay Horse by herself, she enjoys sitting on it with our help. When she is not brushing the horses hair (which like most things with long hair, gets tangled very easily), most of her time is spent petting and talking to it. I love it because when she gets older she can never say that we didn't get her a pony when she was younger.

designgirl16 Giveaway

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Friends and family come together, food is in an abundance, and you have an excuse to decorate every room in your house! Each year I look forward to adding new decorations to my collection. Whether it be something small like a new ornament or something bigger like a new wreath or outdoor decoration, I become giddy over the thought of putting it on display.


This year a handmade banner from designgirl16's etsy shop caught my eye. I can just imagine the Let it snow holiday banner draped across our fireplace mantle (when we get one of course!) spreading cheer to everyone that passes by it. I also think that the Christmas Party Picks are a great idea to add a little holiday cheer to ordinary cupcakes.


As I browsed around designgirl16's shop I began to fall in love with the other handmade items offered. I think that the Airplane Party In A Bag is an adorable and fun way to celebrate your little man's special day and the It's a Girl Polka Dot Set is simply darling. But what really got my attention was the Cupcake Party items because that was the theme for Princess P's first birthday. I just wish I had came across designgirl16's shop before!

designgirl16 is definitely the place to stop if you are looking for handmade decorations or favors. If you are looking for something more personal, they can do customized items for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, you name it. I can just imagine the Pumpkin Napkin Rings gracing our tabletop this Thanksgiving!

Olive Kids Meal Time Plate Set Review & Giveaway

We call Princess P our "on-the-go eater". She doesn't like sitting in her high chair for long periods of time nor does she like sitting at the table. So we have become accustom to feeding her as she runs by. Yes, I know it is our fault for not enforcing her to stay still, but hey at least she eats good. I felt that their use of bright colors and fun characters sparked imagination and creativity. Since then I have dreamed outfitting her "big girl" room in designs from Olive Kids. I got a little closer to that dream when Olive Kids sent Princess P the Meal Time Plate Set in the Tea Party design.

The Meal Time Plate Set comes with a coordinating plate and placemat that go together perfectly. The durable 10" plate is BPA-free and dishwasher safe and the placemat is sealed with laminate for easy cleaning. As soon as we set the placemat and plate in front of Princess P she became intrigued by all of the colorful shapes. Completely unaware that she was actually sitting still, she began eating the food on her plate.
