Yenithing Bath Apron Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed*
Now that Princess P is a little older bath time means play time. Every night when we head upstairs and start to run her bath water she wiggles all over with anticipation. The only bad part is the wiggling does not stop when she gets in the water. She loves to splash around and thinks it is especially funny when she gets mommy soaking wet. But now I have protection from the water thanks to the Yeni Bath Apron from Yenithing.

The Yenithing Bath Apron, Yeni, was started as a solution for a dryer, happier bath time for founder Julie Yenichek and her husband Tony, while bathing their first child. After finding out how functional the bath apron was Julie believed that other moms and dads could benefit from it as well. Now, Yenithing offers several different stylish fabric choices as well as the option for personalization. You can even purchase a Yeni~Hood Toddler Towel to keep your little one snug and warm.

We received the Yeni Bath Apron in the Claire fabric pattern to review. I unfolded the Yeni and immediately noticed how big it was. This makes it not only great for splash protection but also for wrapping you little one up in it when they are done with their bath. The adjustable strap is easy to adjust to fit anyone and the terry cloth is extra absorbent. I also really like the fabric on the top and bottom. It gives the Yeni a little extra pizazz without being too overwhelming. I just wonder why someone didn't think of this sooner!

ebeanstalk Jumbo Knob Pets Puzzle Review

A few weeks ago I was asked to test toys for a company called ebeanstalk. They sent out a number of baby toys and toys for 1 year olds to toy experts (moms) for their review. Through reviews such as mine, this helps ebeanstalk select great learning toys. The toy they sent was the Jumbo Knob Pets Puzzle from Melissa and Doug who makes lots of wooden toys.

Ever since the Jumbo Knob Pets Puzzle has arrived at our house Princess P hasn't put it down. She loves to pick up all three pieces and carry them around. Then she will set the pieces down and play with them a while. When she gets finished doing that she will pick them up again and try to put them in their place on the puzzle. She, of course, gets no where close but at least she grasps the idea. The Jumbo Knob Pets Puzzle is not only a wonderful teaching tool for problem solving but it is also wonderful for learning the names of the pets featured on it. She already has "puppy" down pat, now we are just working on the sound a puppy makes. The wooden knobs are perfect for her little hands to grasp and the pictures under the pieces make it easier to match which goes where. The bright colors on the house shaped puzzle keep Princess P's attention longer than other toys.

I believe this puzzle will be a favorite toy of P's for a long time to come. So I am glad that it is good quality construction and is crafted by hand. The age range says 1+ but I am sure older and some younger kids would enjoy it as well.

4D Concepts - Girl's Storage Bookcase Review

The older and older Princess P gets the more stuff she seems to accumulate. And moving from our spacious 3 bedroom house to a cramped 2 bedroom apartment didn't seem to help any either. So to help get her room a little more organized I knew we need something that could serve multiple purposes. When I found the 4D Concepts - Girl's Storage Bookcase from BedroomFurniture. com I knew that was the key piece of furniture we needed.

When the Bookcase arrived I was feeling rather ambitious and decided to try to put it together myself. Well, I got so far as putting the first three pieces together and realized I needed help. It probably isn't hard to put together for most people, I am just challenged in that department if you know what I mean. So when C arrived home and saw my major mess in the floor he just shook his head and took over. He had it finished within 20 minutes making me feel like an idiot.

The 4D Concepts - Girl's Storage Bookcase is the perfect addition to P's room. The smaller collapsible canvas storage drawers are prefect for holding P's leggings and socks and the bigger one's hide her toys. The top two shelves play host to Princess P's piggy banks and pictures and will one day house all of her books. One of my favorite features of the 4D Concepts - Girl's Storage Bookcase is that it anchors to the wall to prevent it from falling over! The only problem we have with the bookcase is some of the wooden dowels that hold the pieces together have made circular raised places in the shelves. (Perhaps it happened when C was putting it together?) But those are easily covered with stuffed animals and pictures. I have a feeling that this piece will be a staple in Princess P's room for many years to come.

A big thank you to BedroomFurniture.com for sponsoring this review.

Sophie's Closet Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
When I was little I remember my mother always kept my good jewelry in her jewelry box for safe keeping. When I got to wear it, I felt so special and I am sure I made everyone very aware that I had it on. So when I had a girl I knew I wanted her to feel the same way when she wore her jewelry. Thankfully Sophie's Closet provided me with the perfect little bracelet to make her feel that way.

Sophie's Closet specializes in hand stamped jewelry for some of the most important people in your life. Each item is original and hand made with quality as if the designer was making it for her own family. In fact, each design is extensively tested by the designer or her children months before it is released to sell in her shop. That way you know it will stand the test of time. At Sophie's Closet you can find designs ranging from Hand Stamped Baby and Childrens Bracelets to Necklaces customized just the way you like them.

Sophie's Closet generously sent Princess P her very own hand stamped bracelet complete with her name on the outside, Sophie's Closet's famous quote "Never forget... I love you" on the inside, and an elephant clasp (P's favorite) with her birthstone. This tiny little creation has to be one of the cutest bracelets for kids I have ever seen! I love the fact that no detail was overlooked when making it. As soon as Princess P saw her bracelet she instantly wanted it and we have had that problem ever since. She wants it in her hand to play with and not on her wrist. We are working on that though! When she does leave it on it is so adorably cute on her little wrist. Everyone has complemented on the bracelet and asked where we got it. This is definitely something I will treasure years after she can't wear it anymore.

Sophie's Closet is offering my readers 10% off! Just enter the code LIVELIFE in the box at the checkout and you will get 10% refunded back to you. These would make great Christmas gifts! Yes, it is just around the corner.

You always go into a baby shower hoping your gift will be the one "oohed and ahhed" over the most. You want something unique yet useful but incredibly cute at the same time. Giggles & Grins Design has captured all of those things with their handmade photo frames.

After receiving rave reviews and purchase requests for her handmade frames, owner and designer Jessica Goldman was inspired to create Giggles & Grins Design. Each photo frame is unique because it is made by hand and is made in limited quantities leaving you with a special keepsake. You can choose to add a monogram or phrase or you can think up a special design making the frame completely your own.

There are currently 8 different collections of frames to choose from at Giggles & Grins Design: Babylicious, Safari Chic, Funky & Fun, Totally Teen, Sophisticated Style, Destinations, School Days, and Birth Announcement Frames. I am sure you will find a frame to suit everyone's style.

Princess P was generously sent the Baby Girl Purple Flower Picture Frame from Giggles & Grins Design. I immediately noticed the detail and the time it took to make this frame. The 3D purple flower is also an adorable touch and makes this frame perfect for any little (or big) girl. The frame holds a standard 4 x 6 picture and it is easy to get in the frame. The Baby Girl Purple Flower Picture Frame proudly displays a picture of Princess P and sits atop her bookcase in her room.

Wordless Wednesday: Learning to self feed (and the mess that it makes!)

You know what I just realized?

Today is my 1 year blogoversary! Yep, one year ago and 399 posts exactly I began blogging to make a little extra money while staying at home (which that idea completely failed!). Never in a million years did I think I would be here today, on my blog and in real life. So much has changed!

On my blog:

I do reviews now and I absolutely love it! When I first started blogging I didn't even know opportunities like these existed but then I found giveaways and I started entering those. While I won some really awesome things I was left wanting more. So I turned to reviews and suddenly I was the one hosting the giveaways.

I went from no followers to 772 and 1316 feed subscribers!

I found out about Twitter!

I have met some amazing people!

In real-life:

I am back to work.

My little girl is suddenly 14 months old! She was only 3 1/2 months old when I started blogging!

We moved several states when C unexpectedly got out of the military.

Yeah, so those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. But I am sure there are many, many more.

I hope you guys stick around for another year with me here at Piece Of Me!

What To Expect Guide To A Healthy Home from Clorox

Cold and flu season is rapidly approaching so Clorox and The What to Expect Foundation teamed up to bring you the What to Expect Guide To A Healthy Home and the What to Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart.

The Guide To A Healthy Home is from the bestselling author Heidi Murkoff of the "What to Expect Series". In the 16-page guide you can find tips, tricks and all-around helpful hints on how to keep your family and home healthy. The Guide To A Healthy Home also includes wonderful questions to ask your son or daughters Child Care Center. Questions that I didn't think to answer before picking Princess P's. (Maybe that is why she caught a cold her second day in and it has lingered for almost two weeks!) Some of my favorite questions are:

  • How do you clean the toys?
Once every two days with a part bleach, part water solution, or warm soapy water is recommended for hard plastic toys. Stuffed animals should be washed in hot water and soap weekly.

  • How many sinks do you have?
Ideally, there should be one near the changing table and one for the children to use. A separate one near the food prep area is also a plus.

The What To Expect Guide to A Healthy Home is definitely something to keep handy this fall. You can even download it for FREE here!

The What To Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart is broken down by age and has a print out of tips to hang on your refrigerator. At Princess P's age the Healthy Home Growth Chart gives us tips on baby-proofing, food preparation and food storage. It also reminds us that hand washing is the most effective way to help keep germs from spreading. You can also download the What To Expect Healthy Home Growth Chart for FREE here!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Clorox and the What to Expect Guide and received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Kokopax Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed*
These days I have learned that it is hard to get around with a little one attached to your leg. Try cooking dinner and washing clothes with a 1 year old pulling on your pants leg so hard that they fall off! Thank goodness I am seeing some peace with my Kokopax Classic Carrier.

It all started when founder Sarah Spoor realized the benefits of using her parents vintage carriers to help with the everyday tasks of her family. Sarah and her husband could easily cook, clean and attended school activities all while being able to carry their infants. Soon the baby backpack became a necessity for everyday life. After a trip to the Northwest, Sarah came across some beautiful fabrics that motivated her to "modernize" her parents vintage carrier. The end result was a stylish, lightweight framed infant carrier that can be used anywhere.

I was the very lucky recipient of the Kokopax Classic Carrier in the Bubbles pattern. Upon first inspection I found the Classic Carrier to be very stylish and sleek. The bubbles pattern is accessorized with green trim and matching brown straps. It also has a pocket with a wooden button closure for extra detail. The lightweight Carrier weighs a mere 2.7 pounds but has a anodized aluminum frame and a 5 point safety harness for added safety. I have never purchased a backpack carrier before because I felt that they would be very uncomfortable and I would only be able to wear it for a short period of time. But with the Kokopax Classic Carrier and its padded waist support I can wear Princess P comfortably. The frame was easy to adjust to fit both me and C. Princess P also loved being in the Carrier because she could see the world from our point of view. One of the best features is the kickstand for easy loading. It makes it much easier to sit P in. The Kokopax Classic Carrier fits most babies from 6 months to 2 years (35 pounds) so you can get a lot of use out of your investment. You can find the Carrier in several different fabric patterns and it even comes in a green carry bag for added convince.

Kokopax also offers other products to simply your life like their stylish Totes, safe Sun Hats and the Koko Monkey and Pax Protector. And my readers can take advantage of their wonderful products with 10% off any purchase with code pom2009!

One of my lucky readers will win a Kokopax Tote in their choice of fabric
($79.99 ARV)!

To Enter: You must visit Kokopax and tell me what fabric you would choose if you were the lucky winner. Choose carefully because this will be the tote you win!
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner.

Wendy's Boneless Chicken Wings Review

With the three of us being super sick I haven't quite been in the mood to cook. So, Sunday we thought we would give Wendy's new Boneless Chicken Wings a try (thanks to Mom Central and Wendy's we got try them for free!).

Wendy's new Boneless Chicken Wings are made from 100% whole chicken breast and come in three delicious flavors: Bold Buffalo, Honey BBQ, and Sweet & Spicy Asian Chicken. I ordered the Honey BBQ flavor so we could all join in on the devouring of the wings.

As soon as we got the Honey BBQ Boneless Wings I could not wait to try them so I cracked them open in the car. I must say they are a food I prefer to eat with a fork just because the sauce is a little messy. But C dug in with his fingers and it didn't seem to faze him a bit. We all seemed to enjoy the flavor of the Honey BBQ Boneless Wings. By eating similar products before I thought they might be a little hard around the edges but these weren't at all. And there were enough in there to almost fill me up entirely. You can purchase Wendy's Boneless Chicken Wings separately or as a combo. I really want to try the Sweet & Spicy Asian Chicken wings next.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog and giveaway campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Wendy’s and received a sample to facilitate my candid review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Rubbermaid Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
If your family is anything like ours is you loose food storage containers or they end up so damaged and stained you are embarrassed to use them. And I don't know how many times I can find the bottom of the container but not the lid that matches it. Thank goodness Rubbermaid came up with the Easy Find Lids system.

Rubbermaid solves food storage problems using the Easy Find Lids system in four different designs. The first innovative design is the Easy Find Lids everyday storage system. In this system the lids snap together and then to the bottom of the container base so you never have just one and not the other. These containers are offered in gradual sizes but one lid fits multiple bases. Each one is also microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. I love these things they are perfect for C to take to work and look so neat stacked in the cabinets!

For produce Rubbermaid came up with the Produce Saver Food Storage System also with the Easy Find Lids. The handy Crisp Tray in the bottom of the container separates the food from moisture keeping fruits and vegetables fresh and crisp up to 33% longer. The Rubbermaid Produce Saver also contains a Fresh Vent in the lid that allows the produce to breathe. They also come in graduated sizes and are microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. These containers are perfect for when I cut up Princess P fresh fruit or vegetables and she doesn't eat them all. I can toss them in a Produce Saver container and not worry about it going bad.

We have all been there, we get out our food and get ready to chow down when we realize that it has leaked all over the place! Thank goodness for the Lock-its Food Storage Containers. Each container has 4 locking tabs for a secure lid seal. And the Easy Find Lid system allows you to easily organize the lids and bases. These storage containers are especially perfect for soups and spaghetti.

I hate when I pull out a container and think its not clean. When I come to realize that it is clean it's just stained. But the Rubbermaid Premier containers tackle that problem head on with stain and odor resistant plastic. The Easy Find Lids are super flexible to lock in freshness and for easy removal. The Premier containers save me from wasting money by throwing other stained containers out.

Rubbermaid also has a $1 off coupon on their site for any of the food storage containers featuring the Easy Lid System! While you are there you can also enter to win an All-in-one set of Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid System containers. Or you can just enter here at Piece Of Me to win a set!

One of my lucky readers will win a All-in-one 20 piece set of Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid System Containers!

Serena & Lily Review and Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Have you ever came across those online stores or boutiques and immediately started daydreaming about what you could do with this or with that? Yeah, that is totally how I felt about Serena & Lily and Princess P's nursery!

A chance meeting on an October day brought designer and artist Serena Dugan and baby boutique owner Lily Kanter together. After putting their heads together they released a children's collection that turned the industry on it's side. 14 bedding sets and 30 original fabric patterns were released 8 months after their first meeting and the collaboration was appropriately named Serena & Lily.

Serena & Lily sent Princess P the Window Box Everything Bin in the Spring Green Florentine color. The rustic but sweet look of this Window Box says it all. I know the title is "Window Box" but this handy little bin is perfect almost anywhere. As we speak it is sitting atop P's bookcase filled with some of her "nicer" toys for display. It is made of durable metal and the print is covered in a glossy coat that's water tight. The Window Box has a modern yet retro look that I love (and want to snag for myself)! It is one of many different sizes and colors of Everything Bin's offered by Serena & Lily.

Serena & Lily also offers these adorable signature "stuffies" named Serena & Lily Friends. Each friend, you can choose from the Bunny, Lamb, or Bear, is made of soft corduroy, fabric appliques and hand-embroidery. I am sure you know someone who would love the entire family of Friends!

One of my lucky readers will win a Serena & Lily Friend of their choice!

To Enter: You must visit Serena & Lily and tell me something you absolutely love AND which friend you would choose if you won. Each answer must be different from the one above to count.
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner.

5. Tweet about this giveaway.
6. 5 Extra Entries if you blog about this giveaway. Please leave an address where it can be found.

Giveaway will end on August 21st at 11:59pm ET. The winner will be chosen by random.org and announced here as well as emailed. The winner will have 48 hours to contact me or a new winner will be chosen. Giveaway open to US residents.

A big thank you to Serena & Lily for this review and giveaway opportunity.
