Laundry Dropps Review & Giveaway

I am all about trying to make our hectic life simpler. If it happens to be better for the environment along the way that is even better. So when I heard about the great products that Dropps had to offer I knew I had to try them!

Believe it or not the Dropps journey began in the 80's. With chunky sweaters all the rage washing them became a hassle. They would get stretched out and turn colors because of the harsh detergents everyone used. So the wonderful people at Dropps removed the enzymes from the detergent and the end result was clothes that looked more vibrant and kept their shape. But wait it gets even better, they made their detergent convenient too! By putting it in tiny dissolvable pacs they were not only making laundry convenient for everyone, especially moms, but they were cutting down on packaging and waste making it even better for the environment.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Laundry Dropps in the fresh scent and the scent and dye free. As soon as I saw them I thought to myself there was no way that this tiny thing was going to wash an entire load of laundry. I tossed one of the scent and dye free pacs into the washing machine as it filled with water and I watched it start to dissolve then I piled Princess P's clothes on top of it. When the I pulled the clothes out of the dryer I was pleasantly surprised to find them completely clean and soft! Ok, so they passed the test on the little one's clothes but what about mine and C's? After washing a load of our clothes with the fresh scent Dropps I found them in the same condition as P's, soft and clean with a great smell to boot! I am loving these handy 6x concentrated laundry pacs. They are definitely making our crazy life run a bit smoother.

That is the only way to put it! Since C has gotten out of the military we took a huge pay cut. So to make up for that I am having to work at my in-laws restaurant. I love working there and I love all of the people that I work with, but I forgot how much hard work it is. When I get off all I want to do is go home and put my feet up. But right now that is not an option. I still have to come home and fix dinner, spend some much deserved time with Princess P, do some unpacking and find time to blog. And to beat it all, we had a yard sale this morning! So if I am not around here much you know why! Now that summer is upon us that means road trips are too. I never realized how much work is involved in taking a baby on trips. I miss the days when C and I could throw our stuff in the car and take off for the weekend. But now I have to think about things like toys, snacks, hand sanitizer, books, juice, sippy cups and the list goes on and on! But One Step Ahead is literally one step ahead in helping me keep things organized.

One Step Ahead was founded by real life parents, Karen and Ian Scott, who wanted the best for their children. To help us get ready for summer trips we were sent the Toys on the Go Backseat Organizer and the NeckSaver from One Step Ahead. The NeckSaver is a versatile head and neck support for babies ages newborn to two years. As soon as I pulled it out I saw that the NeckSaver came in adorable colors, pink and brown. And could not believe how soft it was! After many unsuccessful trips around the block, Princess P finally fell asleep so I could try it out. Getting it around her neck without waking her was the hard part (she kept playing with it while she was awake). I immediately noticed that her head was resting on the sides of the support and not pitched forward like it was before. However, their were some times when her head fell slightly forward. I just gently pushed it back toward the carseat. While we didn't get to use the NeckSaver for long, we were only minutes from the house, I could tell that it is going to be a definite asset in our long road trips.

After (finally!) getting the car detailed C put the Toys on the Go Backseat Organizer in for me as I chased Princess P down the driveway. He said installation was super simple and it was very easy to adjust. With 15 various sized pockets this thing is very useful! We have room to put several of Princess P's books and a couple of diapers in the larger bottom pocket. And I placed a small wipes container in the detachable activity case. Some of the smaller pockets are perfect for holding single use wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and smaller toys. I use the medium pocket, which is great for storing CD's and DVD's, for snacks and a juice box. The expandable mesh pocket is the perfect size for storing P's sippy cup! While Princess P isn't quite big enough to reach it now, she will be able to when she can use it for storing art supplies like coloring books and crayons. The Toys on the Go Backseat Organizer definitely helps keep the clutter down in the backseats!

The Everio GZ-MG630 allows you to change from camcorder to camera with a switch of a button. It allows you to snap up to 9999 still photos at a very high quality. The snapshot mode even lets you set a self-timer to capture those all important family photos.


One of the really cool features of the GZ-MG630 is the laser touch operation. Located on the side of the viewing screen the laser touch operation lets you select options by sliding your finger up and down the laser strip. Once the option you need is highlighted simply hit the ok button to proceed. The Everio GZ-MG630 also comes with a remote control to choose your options at a distant.


The Everio makes uploading videos a breeze! Especially when you upload your videos into YouTube. Big Blog Birthday Bash Review: Apple & Eve

Princess P is now a juice drinking machine! She gets up of the morning has a glass of milk then a glass of juice and then a glass of water. And for the rest of the day the pattern continues milk, juice, water, juice... So it was very important to me to find a juice that is low in sugar, all natural, and contains vitamins and minerals. So I was thrilled to find Fruitables from Apple & Eve because it met all of my requirements and then some!

Since they arrived in a small package I thought the would stay wrinkled for awhile. But as soon as I pulled them out and laid them on the table the wrinkles fell right out. I immediately tied one around Princess P and she ran off pulling at the pieces of tulle as if she was saying "look at me!" The hand tied tutu fit P perfectly because of the adjustable waist and it will for a long time. She surprisingly kept the tutu on for quite awhile, sometimes stopping to play with it along the way. The Three Peas Co. tutu was definitely a hit at Princess P's party with everyone oohing and awwing as we sang happy birthday to the little princess.

Big Blog Birthday Bash Day 3: Pink Poodle Boutique Review & Giveaway

While browsing through ideas for table decorations for Princess P's party I happen to come across The Pink Poodle Boutique and their Personalized Photo Confetti. I thought that it was such a neat idea and it would be a perfect addition to Princess P's first birthday party.

The Pink Poodle Boutique offers tutus, hair clips, tiaras and dress up clothing along with many other items perfect for your little princess. I am definitely loving the White Marabou Halo and the Small White Fairy Wings. Upcoming Halloween costume, maybe?


I was absolutely thrilled when Christian from The Pink Poodle Boutique offered a bag of Personalized Photo Confetti for Princess P's party! First I got to choose the shapes of the confetti, then I moved on to the messages (up to 4) on the confetti pieces. Font and font color came next along with the colors of the confetti pieces, Fuchsia, Pastel Purple, and Pink. Then it was time to pick the photos I wanted on the confetti. I chose 4 photos ranging from when P was first born up until a couple of weeks ago. Kind of like a mini time line. Did I mention that this Personalized Photo Confetti is super personalized!? When the confetti arrived I could not believe how great it turned out! Each picture of P's face was simply adorable along with the messages and colors. This was a definite hit with friends and family members. With the confetti you have so many options. You can sprinkle it on the tables or put it in thank you cards. I am even saving some of the Personalized Photo Confetti to put in P's scrapbook.

Big Blog Birthday Bash Day 1: Tiny Prints Review and Giveaway

To me birthday invitations are important. Not only do they tell you when and where the party will be but they also set the tone for the celebration. So when it was time to pick out the invitations for Princess P's party I already knew where I wanted them from. Tiny Prints!

I thought the hard part was over when I decided on the company for Princess P's invitations, but boy was I wrong! Deciding on which card design from Tiny Prints was the hard part. I finally narrowed it down to what fit P's party theme the best, the Number Candle Birthday Invitation from DwellStudio. Not only was the cupcake a perfect match, so were the colors. After finding the perfect match it was time to personalize it. I entered all the information editing the card the way I wanted it and then uploaded the perfect picture. After authorizing that the card was the way I wanted it to look I was finished. I was surprised at how fast the invitations got here. And I was even more surprised at how well they turned out! The picture and the colors are great. You can definitely tell that it is a high quality card. The invitations were sent out well over a month ago and we are still getting compliments on them!
