KINeSYS Sunscreen Review

Now that we are home with our family we will be spending much more time at their river lot. Whether we will be splashing around in the pool, grilling out or sitting on the river bank we are guaranteed to get sunburned. Thankfully we have KINeSYS sunscreen to help keep Princess P protected.

KINeSYS sunscreens are oil, alcohol, PABA, preservative and paraben-free, hypoallergenic and provide both UVA and UVB protection. KINeSYS Kids SPF 30 Spray recently won the iParenting Greatest Products of 2008 Award and the Green Award 2009 just to name a few. KINeSYS Spray Sunscreen was also chosen as the #1 spray sunscreen for high efficacy and low-hazard ingredients by Environmental Working Group's study of nearly 1,000 sunscreens.

We were given the opportunity to review the KINeSYS Kids SPF 30 Spray. As soon as we got it I opened it up and sprayed it on myself. I could not believe that once it was sprayed onto my skin it absorbed quickly and left no residue at all! It also left my skin soft. The Kids SPF 30 Spray is fragrance-free and it is water and sweat-resistant. And I love the fact that it is a spray suncreen! No more messy hands! Princess P will not be leaving the house without this sunscreen on from now on!

We also had the chance to try the KINeSYS SPF 30 Girl Sunscreen. This girly sunscreen comes in a cute pink bottle and has a yummy vanilla-green tea scent. It too is oil and preservative free and protects against UVA and UVB rays. I am sure this will be P's sunscreen of choice when she gets a little older. You can find many other options of KINeSYS suncreen at their website www.kinesys.com.

A big thank you to EM and KINeSYS for this review!

Time To Move On

Well its official, we are finally moved out. It was hard to say goodbye but I just have to concentrate on all of the memories we will make in a new house if we ever find one. We went house hunting for the second time today and came home without that feeling of "this is it". So for now we are staying with family. And if I am not posting on my blog regularly please forgive me, I am probably super busy looking for a new house, getting ready for Princess P's first birthday party next week or hanging out with our families.

ASSETS Shapewear Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
I will be the first one to admit that I need a little help in the tummy area. Getting pregnant with Princess P and gaining 50 pounds definitely took a toll on my former petiteish body. While I have lost all of the excess weight, I am still left with sagging skin that is less than attractive. So when I heard about ASSETS by Sara Blakely I knew that was the answer to my stretched out skin's prayers.

Yes that's right, I said Sara Blakely as in the creator of Spanx, Hollywood's best kept style secret Sara Blakely. After Spanx became such a hit Sara created ASSETS in 2006 to help women everywhere keep their "assets" together. Another reason ASSETS was created was to give back. A percentage of each ASSETS purchase will go to The Sara Blakely Foundation which focuses on supporting and empowering women around the world. "I feel very blessed to have had my "ah-ha" moment in America, where women are free to start their own business. I want women around the world with their own "ah-ha" moments to have the same opportunity to follow their dreams."

I was given the amazing opportunity to try the Sensational Shaper from ASSETS by Sara Blakely. This comfortable high waist mid-thigh shaper works wonders on my stomach and butt. It flattens and lifts in all the right places. The Sensational Shaper keeps your thighs from jiggling and its legband-free design keeps it invisible under clothing. I couldn't believe how comfortably the Sensational Shaper was and how well it stayed in place. This is a must under my skirts from now own.

I also had the opportunity to review the Fantastic Firmers High Waist Girl Short and I am head over heels in love with this thing. In fact, when we went on our beach trip this past Saturday I wore the Fantastic Firmers High Waist Girl Short under my dress for 13 hours! It gave me all the firming I could ask ever for. I couldn't believe how comfortable I was in the High Waist Girl Short! It seemed to improve my posture, firm my tummy and smooth my butt. This silky smooth shaper is invisible under clothing making it perfect underneath that little black dress. Did I tell you how much in love I am with this thing!?

What makes ASSETS by Sara Blakely so wonderful, other than their impeccable shaping abilities, is their price! You can find the Sensational Shaper in the Hosiery Shapers section on the ASSETS website. It comes in three colors nude, mocha and black and it is only $20! The Fantastic Firmers High Waist Girl Short is available in the Shapewear section and comes in nude and black and sells for only $26! Both pieces come in a range of sizes.

TWO of my lucky readers will EACH Win One Sensational Shaper AND One Fantastic Firmers High Waist Girl Short!!!!

To Enter: You must visit ASSETS by Sara Blakely and tell me another product besides the one's reviewed above that you would love to have.
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner.

Boon Scrubble Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Bath time is always a fun event for Princess P. It is her time to play and splash around in the water without a care in the world. But bath time can also be a time for learning. That is what I love about the Scrubble bath toys from Boon Inc. This set of three interchangeable toys encourage scrubbing in the tub. Each textured attachment squirts out water for fun. Since P has discovered these toys they have been in her hand (and mouth) both in the tub and out. She loves to squeeze them and squirt water in the air. And of course, she loves to chew on them. P has even found out how to un-screw the the parts making it more fun for her. But the best thing is the Scrubble bath toy set from Boon is BPA, PVC and Phthalate free! So that is one less thing I have to worry about with her in the tub. Since the Scrubble's come apart you don't worry about mold. They are even dishwasher safe.

One lucky person will win their very own Scrubble Bath Toy Set.

To Enter: You must visit Boon and tell me another product you would absolutely love to have.
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner.

Seventh Generation Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
This past week has been a whirlwind of last minute house showings. The Realtor would call and ask if she could show the house in 30 minutes and I would hesitantly agree "sure, why not." As soon as I would hang up the phone I would look around and see that the house was in a huge disarray. I would frantically run around slinging toys in closets and clothes in the toy bin. Then I would get to the kitchen counter and see juice spilled on the tile or I would look in the bathroom shower and see soap scum (yes, disgusting I know!) and body wash on the tub. Ugh, at least I had my Seventh Generation Living Home Starter Kit to help with the job!

"The company derives its name from the Great Law of the Iroquois that states, "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations." Every time you use a Seventh Generation product you are making a difference by saving natural resources, reducing pollution, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations."

After we had Princess P I became more aware of the chemicals I was using to clean with everyday. I would spray down the bathtub with cleaner and the fumes were overwhelming for me. I hate to think what that would be like for a child. So when I had the opportunity to review some really awesome products from Seventh Generation I jumped at the chance.

To tackle the sticky juice mess on the counter tops I used the Kitchen Cleaner in Wild Orange & Cedar Spice and the 100% Recycled Paper Towels from Seventh Generation. Together they worked like a charm and left the counter sparkling clean. I also used the Natural All Purpose Cleaner in Green Mandarin & Leaf to clean the refrigerator, microwave and the outside of the dishwasher. Kitchen is done, onto the bathrooms. The Tub & Tile Cleaner in Emerald Cypress & Fir and a little elbow grease helped me get the soap scum problem under control in the shower. And from now on to prevent that problem we will be spraying down the shower with the Shower Cleaner in Green Mandarin & Leaf from Seventh Generation after we use it. Next I moved on to one of my favorite jobs, the toilets (woo-hoo). But the Natural Toilet Bowl Cleaner in the refreshing scent of Emerald Cypress & Fir got the job down with little effort from me. And lastly to finish up the bathrooms I wiped down the mirrors with Seventh Generations Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner in Ruby Grapefruit & Herb. I must say that with all of the super charged cleaning this week I could be a contender in a pit crew position. I am just glad Seventh Generation was here to help me with the job in a natural way because we all know Princess P was trailing fast on my heels as I cleaned from room to room.

One lucky person will win a Seventh Generation Living Home Starter Kit that includes: Glass Cleaner, All-Purpose Cleaner, Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Shower Cleaner, Tub and Tile Cleaner, Kitchen Cleaner, 2 Natural Paper Towels (120 count) and a Reusable Tote!

To Enter: You must visit Seventh Generation and tell me a product you would love to try!

I knew this day would come

Earlier this week I announced that a couple was coming to look at our house. They seemed really interested but apparently didn't make their decision in time because we had another couple look at it yesterday and they just signed a lease agreement. I know I should be super happy that they signed a 2-year lease agreement with the option to buy at the end but I am so sad! I cried for 30 minutes and all C could say was "you knew this day was coming." Yes I knew it was coming but I didn't expect it to hurt. This is the most perfect house! It has everything I could have asked for and then some. We have so many memories here that I cannot bare the thought of leaving. This was our first house as a couple. The first house we brought Princess P home to. Her first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's and Easter was here.

It just hurts!

I know I will be a mess Wednesday when the movers are packing the boxes. And it will be even worse when they load the boxes onto the truck Thursday. To make matters worse we still haven't found a house where we are moving to! So all of our stuff is going into storage and we are staying in a tiny 1-bedroom apartment until we find something.

That could be days or months.

But C, showing affection in the best way he knows how, has agreed to take us to the beach today. It only takes us an hour to get there and I wanted to take Princess P for the first time. We are going to spend the first part of the morning hopefully shopping followed by lunch and some actual beach time. Then I promised C we could get some crab legs.

I hope that brings me out of my depression!

the sak Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Sure celebrities like Miley Cryus and Taylor Swift love to carry sak handbags. But us moms, we do too! Whether it is the look or the function, we all adore the sak! And the sak California Classics Leather Crossbody bag combines the two. The 100% leather exterior gives the handbag a sleek look and the interior, consisting of 2 open pockets and 1 zippered back wall pocket, gives it plenty of storage. The California Classics Leather Crossbody also has an outside zippered front pocket. One of my favorite features is that it actually converts into a clutch!

So we all know the sak makes gorgeous handbags. So when they announced that they were giving back to the community and going green it just gave us one more reason to love them! "The Sak finds ways to give back to the community whether it is to support tsunami relief, breast cancer awareness, or world peace." "Most recently, with the introduction of The Sak’s first-ever eco-friendly collection of bags, sakroots, The Sak has embarked on greener future teaming up with The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees campaign." See one more excuse to buy a great bag!

One lucky person will win the sak California Classics Leather Crossbody in Teak

Boon Squirt Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
From the moment I saw what Boon Inc. had to offer I fell in love. Their collection of innovative products for modern parents are wonderful! All of Boon's products are brightly colored sure to capture your little one's attention. I didn't know how true that statement was until Boon gave me a chance to try out some of there innovative products for myself.

It is hard to believe that this all started with a messy toddler in a bathtub! That is how Designer Rebecca Finell's imagination was sparked and the Frog Pod was born. But it didn't end there. She had so many ideas for parenting innovations that she sought out a partner, Ryan Fernandez, to help create a successful business. Together they founded Boon Inc. "We're committed to creating nothing but the most innovative gear—and keeping it affordable. Our design studio is always in motion, tackling one parenting challenge after another."
Feeding time around our house never goes as planned. It seems that we are never on time, never eating together or we are out of the house. So anything to help make that go a little smoother is always a welcome addition. That is exactly what I was hoping the Squirt from Boon would help us do. The Squirt is a baby food dispensing spoon that holds up to 3 ounces of pureed baby food. You simply squeeze the brightly colored bulb to dispense the food one bite at a time. I absolutely love the concept of this thing! It makes one handed feeding a breeze. It is simple to fill with food and easy to squeeze. Washing the Squirt is a snap too. It's even dishwasher safe. The Squirt even comes with a handy protective cover to keep it mess free when you are on the go. The spoon part is a little deeper than what we are use to so some food is still left on it after it comes out of Princess P's mouth. And when you are down to the last couple of bites the Squirt tends to splatter the food. Even with that being said I am in love with the Squirt! I just wish we had tried it sooner!

One lucky person will win a Squirt Baby Food Dispensing Spoon in their choice of color (pink or orange)!

To Enter: You must visit Boon and tell me another product that you would love to have.
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner.

One thing down...

and about a million more to go! Last week we all took a trip out of town for C's job interview. We left Princess P with her Grandparents and I went with him to calm his nerves (plus he had no idea where to go). After 30 minutes elapsed and still no sign of him I figured it was going pretty good. So in the meantime I called the insurance company, scheduled a doctors appointment, learned that our license plates are expired (oops!) and talked to my mom. At about the hour mark C appeared with another man. I had no idea what was going on so I stepped out of the car and the man introduced himself. He then looked at me and said that C had two strikes against him so he needed to talk to me. At this point I am thinking oh great if I knew I was going to be interviewed too I might have put a little more clothes on. Then I thought well, maybe it might help! The man said "Number one he is in the Air Force and not the Army and number two he left his wife sitting in the car." After finding out the man was simply joking he told me that he was very interested in C but had other candidates to interview for the job. We shook the man's hand and get into the car. C then proceeded to tell me how well the interview went and how much he liked the guy. I assumed it would be well over a week before we heard anything back so we went along with our vacation as planned. The next day C received a phone call saying that he had got the job! He was so very happy and I am too. It has taken a big load off my chest knowing that he is not going to be unemployed. Even though it is less than what he is making now I am happy he was able to find a job in this market. So that is one thing down but oh so many more to go. Like selling the house or heck even renting it out. But wish us luck, we have a couple coming to look at it later today!

Polliwalks Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Sure, picking out Princess P's shoes are fun for me. But I think P could really careless. The only thing she pays attention to is if she can walk in them or not. (Oh yeah! I haven't made an announcement yet, Princess P is officially walking!) Until I put the Firefly Polliwalks in front of her!
Joel Rusnak had a vision of making children's footwear playful and fun but still have the comfort and support that a quality shoe should offer. Together he, his wife and three other colleagues teamed up to make Polliwalks. Currently Polliwalks offer 11 different animal shoe styles in a variety of colors. While still being entertaining for kids on the outside, Polliwalks are even better for parents on the inside. They are made from waterproof molded soft foam and they clean in a breeze. Just take a damp cloth or baby wipe (or heck, even a garden hose) to the Polliwalks to get clean. But most importantly they offer a superior fit.

Princess P was lucky enough to review the Firefly Polliwalks in Bubblegum/Fuchsia. As soon as I saw them I knew she would be fascinated by the lighted tail! And she was, she just wasn't sure how to make it work. After a couple of seconds of tossing the shoes around she got the hang of it. It was hard for me to get the Polliwalks out of her hand to put them on her feet. She thought they were toys. When I finally got them on, which was completely painless, she looked so cute! Although they are a little big they still provide a great fit. The padded strap keeps them on as she wobbles walks along. Leaving a trail of light and buggy footprints (the bottoms have a "Footprinter" bottom) behind her. But they didn't stay on long. After taking a couple of steps she sat down and took them off to play with. Right now they are mostly serving the purpose of entertainment. But it won't be long before they are the only shoes she will allow on her feet!

One lucky person will win a pair of Polliwalks!

The Grandparent Gift Co. Fathers Day Giveaway

With Mothers Day over it is time to focus on the Dads! That's right, Fathers Day is fast approaching. If you are left scratching your head about what to get the daddy in your life I have something that can help.

I had the opportunity to review the Mother's Heart Plaque a couple of months ago from The Grandparent Gift Co. There was so much truth behind the poem that it left me in tears. So when I saw the Daddy's Little Girl Handprint Frame at The Grandparent Gift Co. I knew C had to have it for Father's Day. The 8x10 handprint frame has a special poem written by Teri Harrison. The line "His big heart she completes" fits Princess P and C 's relationship perfectly. On the frame you have room to personalize it with a photograph and handprint. It all comes wrapped up in a satin ribbon ready to gift that special daddy in your child's life. You can find the Handprint Frame in Daddy's Little Girl and Daddy's Little Boy.

The Grandparent Gift Co. offers so many unique items that you will treasure forever. You can find Brag Books, Keepsake Boxes and Ultrasound Gifts just to name a few. And my readers will receive a Free Grandparents Little Idea Book ($9.95 Retail Value!) if you make any size purchase at The Grandparent Gift Co. and use the code CUST09!

One lucky person will win either a Daddy's Little Girl Handprint Frame or a Daddy's Little Boy Handprint Frame!

To Enter: You must visit The Grandparent Gift Co. and tell me something you would love to have other than the Daddy's Little Girl/Boy Handprint Frames.
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner.

Wordless Wednesday: Swing, Swing

Princess P's first time in a park swing. She didn't know if she liked it or not!

Erth Mineral Makeup Review

I have to admit that I love makeup! Before I had Princess P I was a total makeup junkie. I had all the latest colors and products. But then when mommyhood set in and I didn't have time to even put on makeup I lost touch with all the good products. But thanks to Erth Minerals I am being brought up to speed with some awesome products!

Erth Minerals specializes in mineral makeup and brushes that flawlessly apply them. Their mineral makeup is 100% pure crushed minerals and they use only the finest ingredients. Erth minerals are so confident that you will love their makeup that they offer a 100% money back guarantee. They offer Foundations, Blushes, Bronzers, and Eyeshadows in a range of hues. Erth Minerals also offers a softer colored teen collection named Dragonfly.

I was lucky enough to be able to try several products from Erth Minerals. So I know just how great these products really are. One of the first things I tried was the Mineral Foundation. The size and amount of the foundation is great! And they offer a wide range of colors to match every skin tone. The powder foundation went on smooth and didn't leave a "caked on" look. It can also double a concealer. Another wonderful thing about these foundations is that they are SPF 15!

To top off the look and hide the shine in my case I used Erth Minerals Moth Veil. It definitely works well to conceal my pores and add a silky glow. I also used the Glow Bronzer to give my skin a healthy hint of sun and shimmer. It went on smooth and didn't give my skin a shocking amount of tan. Another great product I got to try was the Erth Minerals Blusher in the Petal color. It is a perfect shade for spring! It is not too pink but it still adds a wonderful amount of color and shimmer.

Anyone that knows me can tell you that I am a fan of the smokey eyes! So I was elated when I was sent Erth Minerals Eyeshadow in Coal! It is a great color to make the smokey eye effect. It also works wonders as an eyeliner. And I used the Fern color in the corners to make my eyes pop. A great color to wear in the daytime is the Russet color. All three colors are easy to apply and have great shimmer to make your lids stand out. And the best part is that all of the eyeshadows are 100% natural!

I am a new fan of Erth Minerals makeup! They have wonderful products and colors. Not to mention the prices are Half of the competitions!

A big thank you to Erth Minerals for sponsoring this review!

Wee Squeak Shoes Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
When little one's are beginning to walk they can use all of the encouragement they can get. That is why I love the shoes from Wee Squeak!

"Wee Squeak shoes are designed for children and parents alike. Our shoes actually make a fun squeak sound as the child walks. A cushion in the heal squeezes air through a tiny nozzle making the squeak sound. For those occasions when the shoe needs to be silent, the squeaker can be removed very simply by an adult."

With a variety of styles and colors to choose from, these children's shoes are a great gift idea as well as a way to help children learn to walk properly without even realizing they're being taught. You can find Wee Squeak Shoes in a variety of designs for boys and girls in sizes ranging from 3-12. Wee Squeak Shoes has also expanded their Spring and Summer 2009 collection for even more options. They even offer "Wee Snap" accessories, clip on flowers and crystal crowns, to go
with Wee Steps Shoes. Princess P definitely
needs a pair of Wee Squeak Shoes!

One lucky person will win a pair of the Wee Squeak Shoes pictured above!
You can chose from the Orange Girls Sandal Yellow Daisy (size 5), Turquoise Girls Sandal White Daisy (size 5), or the Boys Navy Fishermen Sandal (size 5). All of the choices pictured above.

Frigidaire Launches New Appliance Collection (Which You Could Win!)

The New Frigidaire kitchen and laundry collections feature high-performing, easy-to-use appliances with style and design elements that don't just look great, but help the appliances perform better and give you better results. All products - with their functional design and uncomplicated technology - have been built to deliver one primary thing: more time for mom.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that research shows that Moms are logging more overtime than most Americans. In fact, Frigidaire's recently released "Motherload Index" revealed that moms spend most of their waking lives - 200 hours each month - doing the activities they least enjoy rather than the things they love.

With their new line of appliances, Frigidaire is aiming to free up some newfound "me time" for Moms and they want to know what you'll do with it! By visiting Frigidaire.com, you can share the five things that you would do with an extra hour in your day for a chance to win an entire suite of the new time-saving Frigidaire appliances.

All you have to do to enter is fill out this questionnaire and let them know the 5 things you would do with an extra hour in your day.

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms and Moms to be! I hope you have a wonderful day filled with love and pampering!

Manhattan Toy Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Now that Princess P is starting to get older she is noticing toys more and more. Which is a plus for me because she is learning to play on her own. But, the interest in one toy usually doesn't last long and then she is on to the next. So I was excited to see her reaction to the Peek-Squeak Dog and the Snuggle Pods Hunny Bunny from Manhattan Toy.

Manhattan Toy was founded in 1979 by Francis Goldwyn. It was set apart by other toys companies because of its use of non-traditional fabrics in toy design and new body styles in soft toys. Goldwyn is no longer involved in the ownership of Manhattan Toy, but today they still remain true to his vision. At Manhattan toy they believe fun is essential to a child's development. "Our design process blends science and whimsy to produce toys that offer children a rich array of visual and tactile stimulation and unlimited opportunities for imaginative exploration."
As soon as I saw the Peek-Squeak Dog I knew it was going to be a hit with Princess P! It has so many features for her to explore. I even enjoyed finding out what it was capable of! I sat it down in front of her and she immediately reached for it, grabbing the rattle attached to its paw first. She shook it and then discovered the brightly colored rings attached to its other paw. From there she explored the Peek-Squeak Dog's crunchy ears, squeaky foot, peek-a-boo play and different fabrics. Then she found it! Her favorite thing of all. The cleverly hidden tethered bone. Part of it went in her mouth and stayed there for the next 15 minutes! She absolutely loves chewing on that thing! So now whenever we take long trips in the car the Peek-Squeak Dog has to go with us. It keeps her quite and entertained the entire way.

I wasn't quite sure if she would have the same attraction to the Snuggle Pods Hunny Bunny as she had to the Peek-Squeak Dog. I gave her the Snuggle Pod and she instantly noticed that the sleeping baby comes out of the bunny pod. She pulled the baby out and starting tossing her around. She did play with the baby for awhile but then lost interest. I think this will be a big hit when she gets a little older. Although, the Snuggle Pods Hunny Bunny would be perfect to cuddle with. Both the baby and the pod have a super soft velvet exterior. And the pod also has a satin lined interior.

So you read P's reaction to the Peek-Squeak Dog and the Snuggle Pods Hunny Bunny. Now you have a chance to win one!

One lucky person will win their choice of a Peek-Squeak Dog or a Snuggle Pods Hunny Bunny!
