Leg Huggers Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Before I had Princess P, I had no idea that adorable baby leggings like Leg Huggers existed. And when I finally found them, I had a "why didn't I think of that!" moment.
Leg Huggers are the most adorable leggings! Made from bamboo these leggings are not only stylish they are chemical and pesticide free. Bamboo is softer than cotton making Leg Huggers extra soft, they almost feel like cashmere. They are also great for the warmer months, because bamboo is breathable and even wicks away moisture. But the most important purpose they serve is protection and warmth.
Princess P recently had the opportunity to try Leg Huggers in the Bows Fantasia design. The first thing I noticed about them was how soft they were. They fit P great and don't slip or roll down throughout the day. They do a great job at protecting her little knees from the carpet and the cold tile floors. But best yet is that they are super stylish! The Leg Huggers make diaper changing a breeze and will be great for potty training. Leg Huggers offers many styles to match every little one's wardrobe.

Leg Huggers has also joined in the Free Hugs Movement. "Free Hugs is a real life controversial story of Juan Mann, A man whose sole mission was to reach out and hug a stranger to brighten up their lives." You can find more information about Free Hugs at www.freehugscampaign.org.

One lucky person will win a pair of Leg Huggers!

Wordless Wednesday: Look What I Found!

Update!

Isn't it funny how things work!? Yesterday I posted about how our house has been on the market for 6 weeks with no interest. Well, yesterday after I posted I received a phone call from C telling me to make sure the house was clean because we had a couple coming over to look at it! This couple happens to be friends of ours and they seemed to really like the house. But they just started renting another house and they have to see about breaking their lease. So we will see. But, in the meantime we talked with our Realtor and if they don't want the house we are definitely going to rent it out. So we shall see what happens next.

Hasbro Playskool Busy Lil' Garden Butterfly Review

Whenever I find a toy that Princess P plays with more than the box it came in, I know we've found a winner! And I know she really likes it when she wakes up the next morning and it is the first thing she crawls to! It seems we have hit the jackpot with the Busy Lil' Garden Butterfly by Playskool!
This lil' butterfly can pack several consistent minutes (and we all know that is like hours in baby time) of entertainment for your little one. The butterfly flaps her brightly colored wings and scoots across the floor all while playing six different tunes. And when the Busy Lil' Garden Butterfly gets knocked over she pops right back up and continues rolling along.

As soon as I pulled the Busy Lil' Garden Butterfly out of its box, it grabbed P's attention. I installed the batteries, turned it on and she watched it roll across the floor. She didn't know what to think of it at first, but soon warmed up to it. She quickly learned that if she gave it a little nudge when it stopped it would start flapping and playing music again. Then she learned that when she nudge it a little too hard (almost tackling) the butterfly would pop back up off the floor. I am in love with the Busy Lil' Garden Butterfly because it keeps Princess P entertained long enough for me to straighten up the living room. And it encourages her to crawl and move around. The only thing that bothers me is the motor seems a little bit loud. But it doesn't seem to bother P a bit. And after a day or so, you don't even hear it anymore. We have definitely found a winner with the Busy Lil' Garden Butterfly!

A big thank you to Hasbro Playskool for this review!

Oh, dear

So as a lot of you may know, C has decided to get out of the military. Which means in a couple of months we will all be civilians again. Great! There goes our income and insurance. Not to mention that we have to sell our house! And that's no easy task in this market. So I am reaching out to my loyal readers who maybe have just recently sold a house or heck, even had someone look at there home with interest. I need tips people! Because our "dream home" has been on the market for 6 weeks with absolutely...no...interest. We keep the yard landscaped and live in a nice subdivision. But no one is looking! What about renting it out? Anyone have any tips on that either? Panic is starting to set in.....

Photofiddle Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
I received the most perfect Mothers Day gift this year! It is something I have wanted since Princess P was born. And it adds just the right touch to our decor. Are you intrigued yet? I am talking about the custom Oil Panting I received from Photofiddle!

Photofiddle can take your personal photos and turn them into a masterpiece in minutes! Photofiddle is the only website that let's you instantly preview your artwork before you purchase it. And let me tell you, you have so many options to choose from! (There are currently 50 different art styles!) From Oil Paintings to Kaleidoscopic Art and Charcoal Sketch's to Pop Art Colored Squares you will find something to please everyone. Photofiddle can produce your art on stretched canvas, rolled canvas, framed art print or even art posters.

I was lucky enough to get a picture of Princess P "fiddled" and I am absolutely in love with it! The process of creating the artwork was super simple. The hard part was choosing the design I wanted. It was a toss up between the Fantasy Art and the Oil Painting. But I ended up with the Oil Painting. I uploaded my photo on Monday and the Oil Painting was in my hands by Friday! The Oil Painting came packed neatly in a sturdy box with white gloves accompanying it (to protect against skin oils and fingerprints). I cannot believe the quality of the artwork! I am so in love with it and it is the best Mothers Day gift I could have received!

Photofiddle is loved by Oprah too! In 2006 she added Photofiddle as a favorite on her O List. Photofiddle has also been featured in The New York Times, TLC's Moving Up, The Los Angeles Times, the Today Show, USA Today, the CBS Morning Show and many more!

I feel confidant in saying that any mother would love to have a piece (or two) of Photofiddle artwork for Mother's Day, or any other occasion for that matter. So the kind people at Photofiddle have offered my readers a 15% discount! Just use the code pieceofme15 on the shopping cart page and click apply.

An Announcement and A Question

So which one do you want first? Let's start with the announcement. As you may be able to tell by Princess P's ticker on the sidebar, she is getting ready to celebrate a very important milestone. She will be turning one!!! Now this call's for a very big celebration. Coming this June I will be hosting a a Big Blog Birthday Bash in her honor! I already have some really great Companies committed to giveaways but I am still looking for some sponsors (if you happened to be interested email me a livlifelov{at}yahoo.com)! So get ready, as soon as I nail down the exact dates (which is kind of hard to do while trying to sell your house) I will post the button and additional information.

On to the question: Since I am having a Big Birthday Bash should I change the look of my blog? I like the way it looks now but I think I may be ready for a change. Maybe something with 3 columns? I think I may need a fresh look for the celebration. What do you guys think?

Layers Clothing Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Gone are the days when I could lay on the beach all day with nothing more than tiny pieces of cloth covering my lady parts. I am a mom now! But that doesn't mean I have to lose my since of bathing suit style in the process. That is why I love the Swimwear Collection from Layers Clothing.

In preparation for the coming summer months I had the opportunity to review the Maisie swimsuit. This halter style tankini provides just enough coverage at all the right places. The double spaghetti neck ties are a great touch. And the shelf lined top with removable cups adds extra support. The bottoms of the Maisie tankiki are fully lined and have a paisley print fold over band. I love this swimsuit! It covers my main trouble spot, my tummy (thanks stretchmarks!) but it still looks sexy. The V-neck allows for just a hint of cleavage (at least on me). And I am totally in love with the yellow and blue colors! The only thing that I didn't like about the tankini, which isn't really a big deal at all, is the way the top ties in the back. Since it does have the double spaghetti neck ties it makes it a little difficult to tie. But I love the look, so I wouldn't change it! I am in love with the entire swimwear collection from Layers!

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to review the Evelyn dress from Layers and absolutely fell in love! Layers Clothing offers great styles at very affordable prices. And they offer more than just swimwear. You can find a collection of tops, basics and shapewear perfect for the spring and summer!

One lucky winner will receive a $25 Gift Card to Layers Clothing!

Prima Princessa Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
When moms Stephanie Troeller and Mary Kate Mellow ventured on a quest to find a kid-friendly ballet DVD. They had no idea that their venture would lead them to create their own. A year later Prima Princessa Presents Swan Lake was brought to life.

Prima Princessa features the Pairs Opera Ballet performing Swan Lake. The story is helpfully narrated by Prima Princessa, who happens to be an adorable cartoon ballerina. And between acts, live action demos of ballet steps, demonstrated by kids from the New York City Ballet's School of American Ballet, take place along with equally adorable pre-schoolers who dance around dressed up in tutus.

While Princess P is still a little young to set and watch an entire DVD. She actually enjoys bits and pieces of Prima Princessa Presents Swan Lake. She loved to watch the little girls twirling on the TV screen. And even at one point, she crawled to the screen and tried to touch them. She smiled when the music drastically changed and was intrigued by the demonstrations. I can't wait until she gets old enough to sit through the whole thing and join in. Until then, I will just have to watch it for her and enjoy the ballet myself. (Which totally makes me want to go to the ballet!)

Stephanie and Mary Kate are hard at work planning new DVD's for the Prima Princessa Presents Collection based on classical ballets. The pair may even explore other types of dance.
"As moms we feel strongly about creating programming which is not only entertaining but also culturally enriching,”says Mellow.

One lucky winner will receive a copy of Prima Princessa Presents Swan Lake!

ShooShoos Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
With summer rapidly approaching Princess P is in need of some new baby shoes. Especially some with no-slip soles for the rainy, muddy weather we all are accustomed to here in the south. So when I found the Beige T-Bar Smiley shoes from ShooShoos I knew she had to have them.

ShooShoos makes the most adorable line of soft-soled baby shoes for boys and girls. Their sizes range from 0-6 months to 24-28 months. And you can even download and print ShooShoos sizing chart to make sure you get the perfect fit.

Princess P absolutely loves her new Smiley shoes and I do too! The Velcro closer allows me to slide her foot right in. And the elastic in the ankles keeps the shoes on her feet. The sole is extremely flexible and lightweight. Perfect for little one's who are just learning to walk. And the detail on the soft soled shoes is simply adorable. But one of my favorite features is actually on the bottom of the shoes. Along with the no-slip sole, the Smiley shoes have actual smiley faces on them. So as you little one trots along, they are leaving smiles behind them. How cute is that?

I have already picked out several other pairs of the soft sole baby shoes that I would love to have for Princess P. And with the low price ShooShoos offers I just might have to get them!

One lucky winner will receive a pair of ShooShoos!

To Enter: You must visit ShooShoos and tell me which style AND size you would pick if you won.
Please leave an email address. I have to have a way to contact the winner!

Cloud b Twilight Turtle Review

With Princess P's transition to her own room ever looming, I want to make sure she stays safe and is not afraid. So when I found out about the Twilight Turtle from Cloud b I knew she had to have it in her room.

Dedicated to helping children of all ages sleep better, Cloud b believes that every child deserves a good nights sleep for healthy development. Cloud b's Advisory Board is made of Pediatricians and Specialists with one single focus in mind: "to achieve a better, safer sleep for your child." And through that they have helped develop award-winning products.

When the Twilight Turtle first arrived at our house I couldn't wait for it to get dark. And as soon as it did, I shut the door in P's nursery and turned off the lights. I pressed the button and the roomed filled with a starry night sky. I felt like we were watching fireworks as we switched the colors from green to blue to amber and our ohh's and ahh's gradually got longer. Princess P couldn't take her eyes off of the ceiling. She just stared in amazement. While the stars are pretty to look at, they offer more than a night light to ease fears. The Twilight Turtle actually projects eight different constellations onto the ceiling and walls. And the handy star guide helps you find them and learn their meanings. I was thrilled when I noticed the Gemini constellation because that happens to be P's sign. The Star Guide also tells you the story behind Twilight Turtle and comes with a Certificate Of Adoption. The Turtle even has a 45 minute automatic sleep shut off, so you don't have to worry about running down the batteries. I am so thrilled that I found the Twilight Turtle to help make Princess P's transition a little easier. I just wish I had something like this when I was a child. It sure beats the heck out of sticking those little plastic stars on the ceiling.

Cloud b offers a range of other products to help you child sleep easier. The Sleep Sheep, Cuddle Cub and Lavender Lab are just a few.

A big thank you to Cloud b for sponsoring this review!

MomSpit Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
"Come here and let me get that off your face." As I slowly walked toward her, my mother already had her thumb out ready to swipe whatever I had on my face. I can still hear those words and feel the embarrassment many years later. My mom always told me that mom spit was more powerful than Ajax. And you know what, she was right.

Inspired by the original (but less disgusting) MomSpit is a line of personal cleansers that smell wonderful. They are biodegradable, pH balanced, and "made with love". The handy 2oz containers are perfect for diaper bags and purses. And the 7oz containers are the perfect size for countertops. You can find MomSpit in three fragrances: Fig & Green Tea, Unscented and Lemon & White Tea. The best part about these no-rinse cleansers is that they will save you children from a saliva "spit bath".

I recently had the chance to clean Princess P up with MomSpit. And let me tell you, I am loving this stuff! I was lucky enough to be able to try the MomSpit Spit Kit (say that three times fast!) which includes all three scents. One of my favorite uses for it is on P's hands. I use just a little bit of the alcohol-free MomSpit to get the job done. And it also works wonders under her neck where all her juice seems to get trapped. I have to admit that I love to use the Lemon & White Tea and the Fig & Green Tea MomSpit. They leave my hands clean and smelling great. You use one pump (or less) and rub it in. It isn't sticky when it dries either. I know MomSpit will be a staple in our diaper bag from now on!

One lucky winner will receive a MomSpit Spit Kit which includes all three scents!

To Enter: You must visit MomSpit and tell me what scent you would love to try most and what mess (on your little one) you would most likely tackle with it first. Must include both to win!
Please leave an email address! I have to have a way to contact the winner!

2. Subscribe to my feed. (Must be verified to count.)
3. Follow me on twitter or blogger. Or both!

5. 5 extra entries if you blog or tweet about this giveaway. Leave 5 separate comments! Please leave an address where it can be found.

Please leave a separate comment for each entry. It makes it easier on me when a winner is chosen.

Giveaway will end on April 28th at 11:59pm ET. The winner will be chosen by random.org and announced here as well as emailed. The winner will have 48 hours to contact me or a new winner will be chosen. Giveaway open to US residents only.

Glamourmom Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
I have been a proud nursing mama for ten months now. And can you believe all this time I have never owned a nursing tank!? So I quickly found out what I had been missing when I was given the opportunity to review the Glamourmom Nursing Bra Long Tank.

Glamourmom was born in 2000 after founder, Line Rothman, could not find a nursing top to meet all of her needs. Luckily, her frustration turned into something that didn't yet exist on the market. A tank top with a built-in nursing bra. Continuously growing, Glamourmom now offers a lot more than just nursing bra tanks. You can find Nursing Bra Tops, Nursing Bra Slip Dress, Nursing Bra Tankini Swimsuit (perfect for the upcoming summer months), Nursing Bra Long Sleeve, Nursing Bra Tank with Lace Trim, Glamourmom Transition Nursing Bra Tank, Glamourmom Sleepwear and the GlamourTank Bra Tank (non-nursing bra tank).

Like earlier stated I was lucky enough to be able to try the Glamourmom Nursing Bra Long Tank in black. Can I just say, I am in love! This tank is perfect for wear during the day and night. I love the fact that I can just wear this tank to bed and not have to fool with a nursing bra underneath it like I do with all of my regular tanks. The adjustable spaghetti-style straps allow for a custom fit. And the built in mesh lining is perfect for holding nursing pads in place. The elastic shelf and soft-cup frame supports me better than many of my regular nursing bras. I don't feel like I am falling all over the place, if you know what I mean? The design of the Nursing Bra Tank also allows me to nurse in public without anyone knowing the wiser. And most people can't even tell it is a nursing tank when I am wearing it alone. The length on the Nursing Bra Long Tank is great for layering or just added length when I am wearing low-rise jeans (we don't want any plumbers crack!). There are so many color options too. I seriously don't know how I made it ten months without a Glamourmom Nursing Tank!

One lucky winner will receive a Glamourmom Nursing Bra Tank in black with the Glamourmom Logo!

Internet Junkie

So yesterday our internet was down all day! And I couldn't believe how lost I was without it. I cleaned the entire house (with the exception of the bathrooms because it is C's turn to do them), played with Princess P (a lot!) and still somehow managed to watch 3 hours of TV and read the latest issue of Cosmo. I was so frustrated because I had several reviews and giveaways to write and that was just putting me farther behind. But, I literally found myself cussing the computer because it wouldn't work! How sad is that? Have I become so addicted to the internet that I yell at a machine!? Am I alone, or are there other internet addicts out there? With all that time on my hands it made me rethink just how much I spend on the computer.

Kee-Ka Review & Giveaway

*This giveaway is now closed.*
Born in Brooklyn, Kee-Ka (a name inspired by the sweet babbling of infants) brings eco-chic apparel to the littlest fashionistas in your life. You will find tees, onesies, leggings and even bedding made out of the softest, 100% certified organic cotton. Kee-Ka's designs have been featured in numerous magazine publications and articles. As well as featured on HBO's Sex in the City.

Princess P was lucky enough to model Kee-Ka's Cupcake tee. The design is perfect and not too overwhelming. The simply stated "Cupcake" sums P up in an instant. The tee is super soft and machine washable. And the packaging is too adorable for words! It comes in a box ready for gift giving.

Kee-Ka is the perfect place to pick up gifts. Whether you are shopping for a baby shower, a new baby or a birthday Kee-Ka has something for you. With designs like Love Bug, Peanut, Sweet Pea and Monkey you will find something that sums up the little on your list. They even have an adorable twin design that reads "Perfect Pair". I am secretly hoping that Princess P will receive the Cupcake hooded towel for her first birthday!

Kee-Ka also gives back to the community with product donations. In 2007 Kee-Ka teamed up with St. Jude's Children Research Hospital to design a collection of shirts that featured artwork of young patients with cancer and other life-threading illnesses. Also in August of 2005, Kee-Ka donated 1000 shirts to moms and infants affected by Hurricane Katrina.

2008 Bumbleride Flyer Stroller Review

When we purchased our stroller last year, before I had Princess P, I didn't have much choice. Mainly because we came across a travel system that was on sale for less than $100. And this happened to be right after we purchased our home, so we were trying to save as much money as we could. Well, you know that old saying "you get what you pay for". Yeah, that is so true!

I didn't realize what I had been missing out on until I was given the amazing opportunity to review the 2008 Bumbleride Flyer Stroller in Ruby. (Lucky me, I know!) As soon as I opened the box I knew we were going to be best friends. I immediately put it together and started strolling P around the house in it. She laughed the whole time because I kept flipping the handle over and pushing her facing me. That is definitely one of my favorite features. Another feature that I love, is the adjustable handle height. This makes pushing the stroller comfortable for both me and C.

Features:

  • This full size stroller is light weight, weighing a mere 19lbs.

  • The Flyer features a mulit-adjustable handle height that can extend from 32-45" high.

  • Bumbleride Flyer utilizes a removable rear canopy panel.

  • Features a secure, one-push button harness system.

  • Features a multi-adjustable footrest that is comfortable for your infant as well as your taller toddler.

  • Bumbleride Flyer features front and rear wheel locking mechanism so maneuvering in either the forward or rear facing position is a breeze.

  • Utilizes individual brakes on each wheel to safely secure your stroller in a parked position.

  • Features a large storage basket for all of your essential baby gear.

  • Bumbleride Flyer features an easy flip reversible handle so baby can face you or the world.

  • Features a fully reclining backrest that can engage in a flat position for your infant.

The 2009 Flyer comes standard with Bumper Bar, Cup Holder, Head Rest, Shoulder Pads, Infant Seat Safety Bar, Safety Belt and a Rain Cover. And new for 2009 is the Carrycot. "The Bumbleride Carrycot combines the luxury of a bassinet with the ease of a baby carrier."

I have to say I am lovin' the Flyer. It turns and handles great. The colors are gender neutral. So it would be perfect for a girl or boy. And I love the fact that the rear canopy panel zips off to allow for air circulation. Perfect for those summer strolls here in the south. Or, when the panel is on, it protects not only against the sun but also against those strangers who get so anxious to touch your little one. The Flyer has a weight limit of 45lbs, so we can definitely use it for awhile (if P will stop growing up so fast!). When folded the Flyer has a locking mechanism to keep it together. The only thing that I wish I could change would be the size of the flyer when folded. Granted, it IS a Full size stroller. So I understand it's not going to be as compact as an umbrella stroller. Another great thing is that when the Infant Seat Safety Bar is in place the Flyer becomes compatible with our infant car seat! I just wish we had discovered the Flyer sooner!

Check out my favorite features of the 2008 Bumbleride Flyer Stroller.

I apologize for the rattle in advance. It was the only thing that satisfied her.

A huge thank you to Bumbleride for this amazing review!
