Bake Something Special This Holiday With Wilton *Review & Giveaway*

*This giveaway is now closed.*
I don't know about you, but this year we are scaling back on Christmas. No buying gifts for every cousin, friend or co-worker. Instead we are giving homemade treats that everyone will love. Not only are they more cost-efficient, but they are a fun project for the whole family. For inspiration and ideas I turned to Wilton, whom I have trusted for years to be the creative mind behind my holiday masterpieces.

Not only do Wilton's ideas inspire me, but my cabinets are home to several Wilton products. For me, they have always stood the test of time and held up quite nicely in the process. So when I was offered the chance to review a Wilton Holiday Cookie Package I jumped at the chance.

(Note: The cookie sheet on the left came with the review.)

When the package arrived I could not wait to try it out. I looked up a recipe and got to work making the cookie dough. When the dough was ready I anxiously loaded it into the Cookie Press and picked out several of the 12 shapes that came with it. Now to be honest, I have never used a cookie press, so I had no idea what to expect. When I got everything ready I placed the press directly on the Cookie Sheet and pulled the handle. That was it! When I lifted it up I found the most perfect cookie. I alternated shapes for the rest of the dough to mix things up a bit.

After they finished cooking I placed them on the Non-Stick Parchment Paper to cool. When they were cool to the touch, I decided to try my hand at decorating them with icing and sprinkles. I pulled out the Wilton Cookie Exchange Book for decorating ideas and found a perfect model. I outlined the tree shaped cookies with white icing and covered them with green sugar. I also added some icing and red and green sprinkles to jazz up some of the circular shaped cookies.

When I got finished decorating a select few (there was now way I was going to decorate all 72!) I opened the Shiver Me Snowman Box Kit and set a box up. I lined it with parchment paper and filled it with cookies. I stepped back to look at the finished product and could not believe that I had actually made it! Thanks to Wilton I will be giving out some great looking cookies this holiday season.

When C got home he made it a point to wake me up and tell me how good the cookies were. He said "Those cookies look and taste like the real things." As apposed to what, the fake one's?
