Keurig Platinum Brewer Review & Giveaway

Now that I am headed back to work I dread getting up in the mornings. When that alarm goes off I hit the snooze for just 5 more minutes. Then that 5 more minutes turns into 10 and 15 minutes. But mornings are becoming more tolerable with my Keurig Platinum Brewer and the wonderful little creations they call K-Cups.

Keurig is derived from the Dutch word for excellence and that is Keurig's promise to you. The company was founded by coffee lovers who believed that each cup should be served fresh just like it is in the coffee house. That's where the idea of the single K-Cup portion pack was born. Today Keurig is the leader in single-cup brewing coffee brewing technology, in home and in the office.


When the Keurig Platinum Home Brewing System showed up at my doorstep I could not wait to try it out! The fact that it was in the evening didn't seem to matter much. As soon as we got it out of the box set up with the step-by-step guide was pretty easy. The hard part came when it was time to choose a K-Cup for that first brew. After I settled on Van Houtte's Raspberry Chocolate Truffle it was time to see the Keurig Platinum Brewer work its magic! I placed the K-Cup in the holder and lowered the handle. Then I chose my cup size, the Large Mug setting. After that the control center displayed the word "Brewing" and almost immediately coffee was being dispensed. A last burst of air to remove all of the liquid remaining in the K-Cup and my coffee was ready to be consumed. The whole process lasted around a minute. (At least when I am running late for work I don't have to worry about not having time to make coffee!) I added a little sugar and my coffee was perfect!

The Keurig Platinum Home Brewing System takes up a little more space on my counter top than my traditional coffee maker but is much more stylish. From the blue lit LCD display panel and water reservoir to the removable drip tray for easy cleaning it is no wonder this is an award-winning brewing system for Keurig. Another thing that makes the Platinum Home Brewing System so special is that its 60 oz. removable water reservoir holds up to 10 cups before it needs refilling!

With all of the positive things about the Keurig Platinum Home Brewing System its hard to find any negatives. But there is one, and that is that the single-serving K-Cups well you know, only make a single-serving. So each time you want a new cup you have to get a new one. And when you have two people in the house drinking one or two a piece each day that adds up. Twenty-four K-Cups come in a box for around $13.95. But that is still much cheaper than going to a coffee house for a cup of joe.


Keurig offers a wide variety of K-Cups. You can find brands such as Gloria Jean's and Caribou Coffee and coffee types ranging from organic, half-calf, flavored and extra bold. You can even find a wide selection of Tea's and Hot Cocoa's. Keurig has a flavor to suit everyone's taste buds!
