Merry Christmas

New Furniture?

Ever since we have moved into our new house I have wanted all new furniture. I mean who doesn't? But, with this economy it makes it hard to buy everyday things. Much less brand new furniture. That's why I love to shop sales. So I did some searching and came across Max Furniture. Right now Max Furniture is having a winter sale with 45% to 75% off! That's when I started making my so called "wish list" for the house. Here goes:
I would love to have bedroom furniture to go in our master bedroom to replace the old set. But then I would also want to replace the bathroom vanities in the master and guest bathrooms. Maybe we could do bathroom vanity sets? But the thing I would want most is new living room furniture! I have been dying to get new couches since I found out that C's old "bachelor couches" where coming with us to the new house.
But, with that long list of wants I have. The price just keeps escalating. So I was very pleased to see Max Furniture's clearance section. Where you save even more. And just to make things better they are offering free shipping on dining room, bedroom and bathroom vanities! Now you can't get much better than that.

Infantino Vibrating Teether Review

I am always looking for remedy's for Princess P's teething. We have tried several different teethers and they all seem to work as great entertainment. But I was looking for one that actually served its purpose. So, off to our Wal-Mart to scavenger the teether aisle. We had several interesting prospects, but ended up with the Infantino Vibrating Teether in the Strawberry. It has a rubbery texture like what is on the bottom of no-skid socks. (That's the only way I can think to describe it). On its surface, the teether has raised bumps and a raised face. And the rest of it is a hard plastic. If you push down on the lower half of the strawberry it vibrates. Which is suppose to help soothe sore little gum's. I got excited when I saw it and thought Princess P would love it since she loves to chew on things.
As soon as I got home and opened it she reached for it. And immediately the teether headed toward her mouth. I tried to show her that if you push down on the end that it vibrated. But, she didn't quite get it. So, I ended up sitting there holding it down as she chewed on it. That lasted for awhile then she wanted to hold it. I gave it to her and she threw it back-and-fourth, knocking her self in the head a couple of times. Which I know did not feel good, because the top of it is pretty hard.
The product seems to have a good concept. But, my little one has yet to figure it out. I'm sure when she does she will love it.
The price is right too! We paid $6.95 for it at our local Wal-Mart. I also found it at Amazon for $8.95.
I would recommend this teether to any mom that has a little one with sore gums. I do warn you, you might end up having to hold the vibrating end down so they can chew on it. But, anything that makes your little one feel better is totally worth it, right?! :)

New Patio Doors

When C and I moved into this house it was only 3 years old. So many things were brand new. However, we really wanted to buy a new patio door that leads out onto our back porch. We looked forever with no prospects. Finally we heard that Masonite, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of interior doors and entry door systems, was introducing a new line of patio doors. These doors are great for decks, patios and balconies. They also expand the living space and enhance the beauty of your home. Soon on Masonite's website you will be able to view a product gallery and a "help me choose" section. But for now you can download a copy of Masonite's Patio Doors Brochure. While I was at the Masonite website I came across a tool they have called "My beautiful door designer" that lets you "create, design and discover" your new door. You just select your door type, select the style, choose the beautiful glass design and upload a photo of your home. Right now it is only available for interior and entry doors. But I believe the patio doors selection will become clickable soon. I am so excited about getting a new patio door! I just hope that they are not going to be my Christmas present.

O Chritmas Tree

As I sit here baffled as to where the time went. I thought I would post a picture of our tree before Christmas is over. If I was smart I would have taken pictures right when we put the tree up. That way it would have been a little more "fresh" and you wouldn't have to play "Wheres Waldo" with it in the sea of presents. It's sad when you beautiful 6 and 1/2 foot Christmas tree is taken over by gifts stacked almost as tall as it is! But what is more sad is that C and I have only one teeny tiny present apiece somewhere in that mess. Oh well, it is the season of giving not getting. But getting is nice too! :)

Last Minute Gift?

My step-sister is impossible to shop for. She has everything she could want and then some. So this year as I am left last minute gift shopping, I decided I want to get her something that she could really use. Something functional yet fabulous. So when I came across the TOCS Watches 2008 Collection I knew that was for her! The Analog Round Glitz watch would be perfect for her since she works in the health care field and the watch is water-resistant. It has a soft silicon rubber strap and comes in 10 terrific colors to choose from. Including my favorite Pink! And when I found this quote "Sporty and cheeky weekend watch. Water-resistant watch with silicone rubber band and acrylic case." from People Magazines Guilt-Free Shopping issue October 2008 it sealed the deal for me. Also this quote was from O Magazine, The O List Holiday Edition December 2008 "Wrist candy revisited: Round or barrel shaped, some with stylized surreal-looking numbers, Tocs boost neutral clothes with a hit of Crayola color." How cool is that! In fact I might just pick up a TOCS watch for a little Christmas gift to myself this year! In fact my sister-in-law just might need a Analog Oblong watch from TOCS too!

A Fashionable Stocking Stuffer

Its sad when your little one dresses more fashionable than you do. I usually spend the day in sweats and a tee shirt while Princess P is rocking out her latest style. I know some people think its weird to put your little one in nice clothes everyday even when you don't go anywhere. But the way I look at it is, she has all these nice clothes that she is going to grow out of in a months time. Why not get good use of them while she can? At least she looks cute watching mommy vacuum or wash dishes.
She has a ton of cute little dresses just begging to be worn. But, I hated the idea of putting uncomfortable tights on her. So, I did a little searching and found BabyLegs! They are my latest baby fashion obsession. And they happen to be so convenient for diaper changes! Not to mention how cute they look on! I am always looking for specials and sale prices on them because they usually retail for around $12. Which is not bad if you are only buying a couple pair. But, when you want a pair for each dress or onesie it starts to get a little expensive. So I have found a couple of online stores that happen to have them on sale. Plus, they make great stocking stuffers for your little one!

My Tots Travel has their entire stock of BabyLegs on sale right now. Most of them priced at $7.50!

Baby Once offers many styles of BabyLegs for under $9.95. The best part, shipping on BabyLegs is free!

Ultimate Baby Boutique
has many different styles of BabyLegs for under $9.75.

eBay Doorbusters

Did any of you participate in the eBay Doorbuster game? Or better yet, did anyone actually win anything? When I first heard about it I thought that if I just hit refresh enough and made sure I had "holiday doorbuster" in the search box I might get lucky enough to win something. I quickly learned that wasn't the case. I became suspicious after I had gone the whole day without seeing such a wonderful deal. And when I did, I noticed that most of the winners had a 0 feedback rating. How did the new eBayers get to the deals before the rest of us? So I do a quick search and found out that people were cheating. I was shocked, but I shouldn't have been. People were creating scripts that won the item before any of us could even view the page. Which would explain why the page counters read 0 at the bottom. I knew such a deal was too good to be true.

Inmate Locator

I had a friend call me the other and tell me a girl we went to high school with was in prison. This was totally out of character for this person and it got me to wondering if this was true or was it just a rumor? So I did a search and found Alaska Inmate Locator It lets you search for inmate records as well as inmate license records. Well, it turns out that it was only a rumor. That I gladly put to an end.

Avalon Organics Shampoo & Body Wash Review

I am always looking for organic products, especially for Princess P. So I was thrilled when I came across Avalon Organics Baby Shampoo & Body Wash. It is a tear-free formula that is paraben free. It also doesn't contain any harsh preservatives or artificial colors. The wash has an organic blend of aloe, chamomile, calendula and sunflower. And is pediatrician confirmed as well as certified by Quality Assurance International. So I knew it had to be safe. But how did it stand up to the first-time mom challenge? It passed! I was surprised at how well it lathered up. And the baby wash rinsed off very easily. Leaving no residue. I love the fact that it smells like lemons. Very different from other baby wash's. Its packaged in a very cute, "clean" looking bottle. The price is around $10 for 8 fl oz, which should last awhile. So, I would definitely recommend this product to any mom looking for a gentle tear-free baby shampoo & body wash. You can find Avalon Organics Shampoo & Body Wash as well as their other products at AvalonOrganics.com. Babies-R-Us also sells Avalon Orgaincs baby products including this one.

Happy birthday to Princess P! She was a half of a year old yesterday. I can't believe it has already been six months since we welcomed her into the world. When people told me how fast time flies I didn't realize how true it was!! And since it is a such a monuments occasion (to me anyway), I have decided to post a picture taken when P was two months old.
