VMAs
So was anyone else less than impressed with last night's MTV VMA awards? It was the 25th anniversary of the awards and supposed to be bigger than ever broadcasting live from the Paramount Pictures lot in LA. I thought the host Russell Brand was, well lets just say different. While he did have some funny moments for the most part he just talked about sex and slammed The Jonas Brothers. And why in the world did he bring politics into an awards show? The night didn't go off without quite a few glitches. There where a lot of trips and word fumbles, Demi Moore walked on stage without a microphone and Christina Aguilera lip-synced her way through her first performance since giving birth to her son. Pink had an awesome performance despite the fact that my Husband thought she had a wardrobe malfunction, but of course I missed that part. At one point Jordin Sparks came to the aide of The Jonas Brothers by stating "I just wanna say, it's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not every guy and girl wants to be a slut, okay?" That comment was directed towards host Russell Brand for making fun of the trio, for wearing promise rings as a symbol of their virginity. In my opinion Rhianna had the best performance with the night's opening act of her song "Disturbia". And of course we can't forget Britney Spears taking home 3 moon men including Video of the Year. So all-in-all the 2008 VMAs will not be a show I will remember for how awesome it was, the way I will remember it is arguing with my husband about the singer from Tokio Hotel, guy or girl? Guy, just for all those who wondered the same thing.
