Okay so I have to admit I co-sleep. I have since Princess P has come home from the hospital. The first night we brought her home she screamed all night, and the only place that she would stop was if she was on your chest snuggled up into your neck. I thought that was no big deal that she had just been through this traumatic experience and she needed comforting. She slept on mine or C's chest for two weeks then we tried to move her to her bassinet and she was not having it. For the sake of our sanity I put her in the bed between us and she slept until about 2 am, I fead her and she went back to sleep until about 9 am. That has been our routine for 3 months now. From the beginning everyone told me I was making a mistake by putting her in the bed with us and that we would never get her out. But I have to be honest yes I would love to be able to stretch out in the bed without worrying that I'm going to hit her but I love her being there right beside me all night long. I also like the fact that when she wakes up to eat I don't have to get out of bed. It's a comfort thing for both her and I now. We will know when the time is right to move her to her crib, but until then I have the best cuddle monster out there!
OH and by the way her bassinet was RECALLED because of 2 deaths! So thank goodness that she didn't sleep in it.

Me and my four brothers co-slept with my mom (my dad was a military so he was away a lot) and we have no dependency problems.
I co-sleep with my 2 kids until now, my eldest being 22 months and my youngest 5 months. Yes, I sometimes also long for being able to lie down comfortably, but now I lie more comfortably beside my kids, knowing that I'll be there when they need me and I am assured that they are sleeping safely and won't fall off the bed.
Don't feel bad about it. In fact, you should be proud. :)
I love co-sleeping and that's all we've done with both my kiddo's. We actually took the crib down with my daughter because we knew we wouldn't use it. My son slept with us until he was 2 1/2 and now sleeps in his big boy bed. It's the best!!!!!!!! You should feel great for doing it, it's a beautiful natural thing and if people didn't make such a big stink about it I think more people would do it. =)
